Chapter N° 4 : love sick

Hei Xiazi

It had taken him a while to once again dig a path for the heartless Master Hua to walk. Breathless by the scorching sun heat and exercise, he offered Xiao Hua the opening he had dug. The man had smiled mockingly at him before he went in without giving him a moment to rest.

Resigned, he walked after Xiao Hua into the tomb and found traces of San Xing's people, as well as death ones at that. However, as soon as the door was open, a few boomerang things came zooming in, and they barely had time to dodge them, only saved by their prime skills. Hei Xiazi was confident in his ability to pass such dangers, and watching Xiao Hua move like a true master of kung-fu, he smiled to himself. All his movements where graceful and pleasant to watch.

Obviously, the man not only had the looks, he had the talent to make The perfect combination for his strong personality and adding a caring heart when it matters, how could his heart not beat for the other one? Just walking alongside him was exiting enough to keep him interested all the way down, until suddenly, another bizarre corridor with thorns on each side was spotted. Xiazi illuminated the walls with his flashlight and smiled, looking at Master Hua.

"So weird. I wonder what kind of trap will be a trigger for someone to get impaled at the sides." He said looking at the stone floor.

"No matter the trick, we must be careful." Xiao Hua said as he seriously looked around.

"Are you anxious? Don't worry, I will be sure to protect you well." He teased, and Xiao Hua snorted.

"As if I need you to protect me. I'm more capable than you for the job." Xiao Hua refuted.

"Want to bet?"

"Is money all you think about?"

"Not all, but most of the time."

"You are hopeless."

"Hey, I'm reasonable. A man needs to eat and make a living. Know what, I will go first with no charge this time."

"Should I be touched?" Xiao Hua asked and Xiazi made the motion of a broken heart, grabbing his jacket over his heart while falsely stumbling toward him.

"Don't be an idiot, either you go now or I will." Xiao Hua pushed him away and Xiazi sighed.

"Alright, I go." Like I said, so heartless... he thought as he carefully begin to walk forward, then Suddenly, his body was pulled over the spike wall by an invisible force he could not avoid.

"Xiazi!" Xiao Hua yelled, yet Xiazi stopped him.

"Don't move!" He shouted back, while putting his hands on the wall in between the spikes. As he looked down, he noticed he had managed to resist the force in time to avoid his heart being stabbed by one. Still, his arms were now trembling with his efforts to be pulled no further.

"Xiazi! What's going on?" He heard Xiao Hua ask with unhidden worry.

"There is an invisible force working on those thorns. It's possible to be a kind of magnetic field, or the thorns themselves are magnetic. Take out all your metals, then come and help me. I had one just over my heart and I will not resist the force for long enough." Xiazi told him, and he heard Master Hua remove all metals from him, then he tried to pull him.

"What the hell do you have in that bag of yours? It's so damn heavy." Hua asked as he tried harder to remove it.

"Don't talk nonsense now, hurry!"

And so Xiao Hua did, adding a bit more force into it by putting one of his legs in between the spikes for more momentum and he pulled with all his strength in one go. This time, he managed to free Hei Xiazi from it, but the force he used on his leg made him stumble backwards toward the other side of the thorns.

Luckily, Hei Xiazi had good reflexes and grabbed Xiao Hua before hitting anything that could hurt him in any way. Nevertheless, having Xiao Hua half bent on his arms made Shades' heart race.

"That was close, are you alright?" he asked Xiao Hua.

"Of course. Can you let me go now?" Xiazi smiled as he pulled him straight.

"See? I keep you safe, right?" Xiao Hua looked away.

"Not at all, we should use fire to nullify the magnet, then keep ongoing." Hua suggested and Xiazi took out a torch from his backpack.

"Here." Xiao Hua gave him a helpless look.

"You are so old fashion." He criticized.

"Maybe, but it will do, right?" The question had a double meaning that Xiao Hua ignored, yet his ears went red. Xiazi smiled this time.

Hua Yuchen may be thought, mostly by the hard life he lived, taking leadership of his family at a very young age, but at the end, he was sure that in their inner heart fight it would be his win

Zhang Qiling

He stared at Wu Xie for most of the night, carefully keeping him warm. At some point, Wu Xie woke up because of the pain on his waist, and he gave him some painkillers pills to help him at ease again.

"Xiaoge... what happen?" Wu Xie asked weakly. He still had that pale look that he wished was not there.

"Like Pangzi, you got those parasites fungus on your stomach. I took them out." Qiling whispered.

"Oh, so this is what a woman feels when giving birth? It hurts like hell..." Qiling smiled, happy that at least Wu Xie had his sense of humor back. It wasn't like Pangzi planned on teasing Wu Xie about giving birth to fungus. The man always took any chance possible to tease someone else

"It will subside soon, I promise."

Qiling said as he moved his hand to take a knife he kept nearby and cut one of his long fingers. Seeing him cutting himself, Wu Xie moved to stop him, but the pain on his waist made him lay back on his sleeping bag.

"Xiaoge, stop doing that..." Wu Xie whispered through his pain.

"It's okay, pull your shirt up." Qiling instructed and Wu Xie looked at him with wide eyes.

"Huh? For what?" Qiling's heart skipped a beat. Wu Xie looked cute when he flustered.

"My blood had healing properties.

It will help you recover faster." He explained.

"I don't want you for your blood..." But that sounded like he was confessing he did want him for something else, which makes him embarrass. "I mean... I'm not asking you to..."

"Wu Xie, I'm willing, not forced." Wu Xie blushed.

"Xiaoge..."

"Pull it up, don't waste my blood." Qiling whispered almost smiling at the blushing young man.

"Alright..." Wu Xie obeyed, removing the cover, then pulling up his shirt. It was then that he saw the scar on his stomach and winced at the sight.

"Don't worry, my blood will heal you enough to not leave a scar."

Qiling told him and gently passed his bleeding hand over the wound, tainting it all. Wu Xie tensed at the intimate touch, but didn't dare to move. When Qiling finished, he felt a burning sensation, similar to the one he felt when he was given the dragon blood pill.

"It will dry soon, then you can go back to sleep." Qiling told him.

"Thank you. It shames me that you had to keep saving me, when I should be the one saving you instead." Qiling smiled so handsomely that Wu Xie's heart wanted to go off his chest, so he swallowed it back. He had always thought that Xiaoge looked the handsomest when smiling. It made him look younger and more human.

"You had done enough saving."

Qiling's whisper at his stared at his lovely eyes. For a moment, he was tempted to kiss him, but even though the others were sleeping for hours, he was not going to take advantage of Wu Xie when he was the weakest.

"What do you mean?" Wu Xie asked innocently.

"You make me human again." Wu Xie smiled for him this time, and he simply enjoy it.

"Hum... well, I don't think that's enough."

"It is."

"Don't get used to this little."

"It's not little."

"Come on Xiaoge, you deserve more, desire more out of this world."

"I do." Qiling confessed and once again Wu Xie blushed, suddenly remembering that Xiaoge had told him he was his only connection to this world.

"Do you really?" Wu Xie asked for confirmation.

"Yes." Qiling answered and out of nowhere Wu Xie pulled him down by his black jacket and ignoring the pain on his exposed waist, he damn right kissed the man he had desire for a while. If he was all Zhang Qiling wanted from this world, then it was up to him to grant his wish.

Right now, there maybe not much time for romance, but eventually, if they manage to get out, they could share more time together and perhaps make Xiaoge settle in a place he could call home, with people who would care for him for who he was, not what they could gain from him, a place in which he could love freely and be loved back.

Thus, Wu Xie passed his arms over Xiaoge's shoulder and gave him what he needed, softly kissed for the moment, but charged with promises and devotion. They kissed quietly in the middle of the night, while the others rested after a hellish day. By the time Wu Xie felt sleepy due to the effect of Qiling's healing blood, he swore he was not going to let go of him, nor lose him from his sight again

They were bonded and it was by fate itself.
