She Was the Glitch In Heaven
The universe breathed in silence.
Beyond the veil of time and stars, where even gods seldom tread, there floated a lone celestial corridor—shimmering in hues of silver and sapphire. Within its bounds, untouched by decay or motion, a single figure stood motionless on a glass-like platform that curved into oblivion.
She was Jue.
White hair cascaded down her back like liquid starlight, each strand glowing faintly as if woven from the remnants of galaxies. Her skin was porcelain-pale, ageless, unblemished. She wore a bodysuit of midnight black lined with golden sigils, and over it, a long split cloak that trailed behind her—never touching the ground.
Her golden eyes were unnerving.
Not merely for their radiance, but because they never blinked unless she willed them to. They held the cold patience of something that had watched a thousand civilizations rise and fall, and the loneliness of something that had outlived every story ever told.
She wasn’t human. Not anymore.
"System initializing."
A calm, mechanical voice echoed around her. A soft chime followed, and suddenly, in front of her eyes, a translucent blue interface flickered into existence. It curved like a holographic window, presenting data in incomprehensible speed—symbols, numbers, and images scrolling endlessly.
“Welcome, Operator JUE.
New directive available: Romance Mission 728-Φ.
Assignment: Lower Realm – Hell Tier 3.
Target: Entity – Lucifer. Code: GOD_HELL_03.
Objectives: Bond → Trust → Love → Betrayal → Disappear.
Completion Reward: Restoration of Core Memory Fragment 87.”
Jue raised a slender brow, unfazed. "Lucifer, huh?" she murmured, her voice low and melodic—like a whisper laced with frost.
A silver sphere floated beside her—Zero's visual core—emitting soft pulses in response.
“This realm is unstable. Approach with caution. Emotional entanglement is not advised.”
She smiled, faintly. "Have I ever failed to complete a heartbreak arc?"
“You lingered in Mission 514-K. You ignored four withdrawal commands.”
"I was curious."
“Curiosity corrupts directives. Please confirm identity selection.”
Jue closed her eyes briefly. Inside her, dozens of selves stirred—some dormant, some whispering for attention. One emerged—still, graceful, and icy.
“I’ll use the 'Seraphim' persona for this one,” she said.
“Confirmed. Suppressing alternate cores.”
A pulse surged through her veins as the other personalities were locked behind mental gates. She felt her posture shift subtly—her breath growing lighter, her gaze colder, her movements exact.
Only one personality per mission. That was the rule.
“Initiating transfer to Mission World.”
The stars around her shattered into ribbons of white. A heartbeat later, Jue vanished from the corridor—leaving behind only a trace of her cloak and a fragment of silence.
Lower Hell – Tier 3 Realm
Fire bloomed like roses from the cracks of obsidian cliffs. Rivers of lava coiled like serpents through endless valleys, hissing and glowing in a permanent twilight. The sky was the color of bruised blood, with storm clouds made of ash and whispers.
And atop a jagged mountain of black stone, surrounded by infernal winds and chains of memory, sat Lucifer.
He was leaning against a throne carved from cursed bones—each one still faintly humming with the names of those who betrayed him.
His black hair fell freely around his face, tousled and damp with sweat and blood. He wore a long coat of obsidian leather, tailored to perfection, flames stitched into its edges with thread only fire could see. Beneath it, his skin was marked with runes—etched deep into his chest, symbols of power and pain.
His eyes were red—not crimson, but the color of wrath restrained.
Lucifer's face was beautiful, but not in a gentle way. His beauty was the kind that made people fall to their knees—whether in awe or fear. His sharp cheekbones, straight nose, and strong jaw all framed a mouth currently twisted in a sneer.
He was bleeding from a wound across his abdomen. Even for a god, healing was taking too long.
"Another rebellion," he muttered. "Another curse. Another reason to burn this damn realm down."
He tried to rise, but his body screamed with pain.
And then—
She appeared.
From a single flash of blue light, she dropped into his realm like a falling star. Her boots landed silently on black stone. The flames near her dimmed, confused by her presence.
Lucifer looked up, barely able to raise his hand in defense. "Who the hell—"
“I’m Jue,” she said simply, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
He blinked. She was so still. So precise. Like a statue sculpted to kill.
"A new assassin?" he asked hoarsely.
She tilted her head. "Not exactly. I’m here to save your life."
Lucifer laughed—painfully. "That's the worst lie anyone’s told me in a century."
But even as he said it, he couldn’t tear his eyes away from her. There was something about her golden gaze—it wasn’t cold. It was watching. Recording. Like he mattered.
And for a moment, the God of Hell forgot his pain.
