Kiyomi meets Yasu

Kiyomi, casually walking at the beach, thoughts to herself, “Sometimes I wonder how life would be with someone else in it. Not that I want someone in my life, but I just want to see how it would feel to have someone all to myself.”

She then spotted Yasu sitting down at a bench and contemplated approaching him and introducing herself. “I don’t know if I should. I want to, but what if he thinks I’m weird?”

Kiyomi continued walking when, all of a sudden, Yasu saw her. “Hey, wait up?!” he exclaimed. Kiyomi turned around, shocked that he had approached her. “What’s your name, beautiful?” Yasu asked. “I’m… Kiyomi,” she replied. “What’s your name?” Yasu then said, “I’m Yasu. It’s very nice to meet you.”

Kiyomi asked, “What made you come up to me and tell me I’m beautiful? I never feel beautiful.” “Well, Kiyomi,” Yasu said, “when I see a beautiful girl like you, I have to let them know that everything about you is beautiful.”

Kiyomi responded, “Than….thank you. You’re nice-looking, yourself.” “Nice-looking *haha* thank you,” Yasu said. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know what to say. I don’t normally get approached like this, so it’s new to me, but you’re handsome.”

Yasu replied, “Handsome now that’s better.”

“What are you doing walking out here all alone, anyway? It’s going to get dark soon,” Kiyomi says. “I’m not sure. I just wanted a nice walk, I guess.”

“You know, Yasu, I was going to approach you, but I was so nervous. And you’re just so… good-looking. I didn’t want you to think I was weird,” Yasu quickly replies.

“Weird? Okay, stop there. You’re everything but weird. You’re so beautiful that’s why I came up to you. I wouldn’t have come up to you if I thought otherwise,” Yasu says.

All of a sudden, it gets so quiet that Kiyomi doesn’t know if she should have said that. And now that she said it, she thinks he thinks she’s weird.

“Okay, well, I’m going to get going. Like you said, it will be dark soon. Have a good night. Bye…” says Kiyomi.

“Wait, hold on! Not so fast… Can I get your number or something so I can get in touch with you again?” Yasu asks.

Kiyomi responds, “You want my number? Why?” Yasu explains, “I want to get to know you. You seem like a very nice girl.”

“Okay, sure. My number is 428-695-5419.” Kiyomi then walks away, and Yasu watches her walk away as her pink hair flows in the wind.

Little does Kiyomi know that Yasu will change her life in so many ways. She starts thinking to herself, “What if he is just trying to play with my emotions? But why would he do that if he doesn’t even know me? I need to stop overthinking. Maybe this is good for me. I can’t let my past be the judge of my future. Everyone is different. I just hope he’s a good guy.”

It’s now 9 p.m., and Kiyomi is lying in bed, thinking about Yasu and his perfect face. She hopes that he will text her tomorrow if he hasn’t forgotten about her by now.

“I’m sure he has a lot of girls he texts. I’m the less important one. He definitely won’t text me,” Kiyomi thinks.

She closes her eyes and drifts off to sleep.
