Chapter 4 + Chapter 5

Chapter 4: The Beginning of the Disaster

It started like any other day.

Shen Hao was in school, sitting in math class. Like always, he wasn’t paying attention — his eyes were fixed on the window, lost in thought.

That’s when the shaking began.

At first, he thought nothing of it. Maybe he was just tired. Maybe his head was spinning from too much studying. But then... he heard screaming.

He snapped out of his daze and looked around. What he saw made his blood run cold.

The entire classroom was shaking.

The floor trembled. Desks rattled. The lights flickered.

It wasn’t just in his head — the whole school was shaking.

The tremors were weak at first... but quickly grew stronger. Students began to panic. Girls screamed. Boys rushed around, trying to help others evacuate. Teachers stayed calm and guided everyone out of the building.

Shen Hao sat frozen for a moment, too shocked to move. Then he took a deep breath and told himself:

> "It’s just an earthquake. Everything’s going to be fine. Just evacuate... it’ll be over in a few minutes."

But just as he stood up, ceiling fans began falling one after another, slamming into the floor. Panic turned to chaos.

Shen Hao rushed to the door.

But the moment he stepped out of the classroom, a sharp, unbearable pain hit his head.

It was like his skull was cracking open.

He collapsed to the ground, vision blurry, ears ringing. For a few seconds, he couldn’t move.

And then... he saw something.

In the dark corner at the end of the hallway... a faint blue figure.

He squinted, trying to make out what it was. But everything was blurry. His head was spinning. And before he could even blink again, the figure vanished.

> "What... was that?"

He didn’t have time to think.

He pushed himself up and stumbled out of the building with the others, fighting through the pain.

Outside the school, fresh air hit his face. But just as he thought it was over — the headache came back.

Harder.

Worse.

He clutched his head, screaming. The pain was too much.

Students and teachers nearby turned to him, concerned — but Shen Hao couldn’t hear them anymore. The pain drowned out every sound.

And then...

A voice echoed inside his mind.

Deep, ancient... and calling out his name with terrifying power:

> "SHEN HAO!!"

"SHEN HAO!!!"

"SHEN HAAAAO!!!!"

Over and over, louder each time.

The voice thundered in his skull like a storm. His body trembled. His knees gave out. His vision turned dark.

And then...

Everything went silent.

Shen Hao collapsed to the ground — unconscious.

Chapter 5:Shen Hao's Dream

Shen Hao collapsed at the gate of his school, and everything went silent. Everything went black.

But suddenly!

Shen Hao slowly opened his eyes. His vision was blurry at first, but it started clearing as he looked up. He realized he was lying down, staring at the sky — but it looked unfamiliar.

He was confused. There was no sun, yet the sky was bright like daytime. When he moved his head to look around, his shock grew.

“Wh... wh... what... the... hell... is... all of this?!?!” he exclaimed.

What he thought was solid ground was actually water. Somehow, he was able to stand and walk on it without sinking. The water stretched endlessly, like a vast, endless sea.

Then, he sat down on the water’s surface and looked around. There was nothing but the flat, endless sea. More shockingly, three giant planets hovered close by — each nearly the size of Jupiter.

“What the actual hell? Am I dreaming or something?” he muttered in disbelief.

“It... it has to be a dream, right?”

Suddenly, a voice called out from behind him:

“Shen Hao! ... Shen Hao! ... Shen Hao!”

It was the same old man’s voice he heard before collapsing.

He quickly stood up and looked around in confusion. “Who? Who are you? And how do you know my name?!”

Furious and curious, he scanned the area but found no one. Suddenly, something—or someone—pushed him from behind with enough force to throw him onto the water.

He raised his guard, stopped searching for the old man, and started looking for the one who pushed him. Still, he found nothing.

“Whoever you are, stop playing games with me! Show yourself! Or are you afraid of me?”

Though afraid himself, he spoke boldly.

Then—crack.

A crack appeared in front of him out of nowhere. It looked like a crack in space itself, growing bigger and bigger.

About three feet wide, it suddenly shattered like glass.

Curious, Shen Hao gazed into the hole. He saw nothing but pure black—like a curtain blocking the eternal abyss and the secrets of space.

Then, the old man’s voice came out of the crack:

“Shen Hao... find me!”

Without thinking, Shen Hao responded quickly:

“Where... where should I find you?”

Immediately after, he realized what he had said and became confused.

“What... what did I just say? And why did I say that?”

As soon as he finished the sentence, his head began to spin. He fainted again.

---

When Shen Hao woke up this time, he instantly sat up and started screaming.

Looking around, he realized he was in his room—on his bed—and everything was normal again.

Hearing his scream, his whole family rushed into his room.

When they opened the door and saw Shen Hao sitting fine on his bed, they all sighed in relief.

His older brother spoke first:

“Why the hell did you scream that loud, dude? You’re not dying, are you?”

Then his younger brother chimed in:

“If you’re dying, can I have your gaming account, brother?!”

His mother shouted at them immediately:

“What the heck are you kids talking about? Why would you say something like that?!”

And then she started scolding them.

---

Time for the Hao family introduction:

Father: Junwei Hao, 39 years old

Mother: Meilin Hao, 38 years old

Older Brother: Wenhao Hao, 18 years old

Middle Brother: Shen Hao, 16 years old

Younger Brother: Fengjian Hao, 13 years old

---

After scolding the younger kids, she hugged Shen Hao tightly.

He finally relaxed and thought to himself:

“So after all, it was just a dream! ... Huh! That’s nice, I guess?”
