Wang Yibo didn’t leave after rehearsal ended. Most of the models packed up and left, but he lingered, leaning against the counter near the fabric room, watching Xiao Zhan sketch. His skateboard lay at his feet, untouched.

“You should try leaving the studio sometime.”

They sat under the hazy Beijing skyline again, just like the night before. This time, the silence between them was easier—looser. Zhan drank the soda without protest.

“You always design this late?” Yibo asked.

“You always eat five meals a day?”

Zhan shook his head but smiled.

The mood in Studio Xuanzhi was electric. The final fittings, accessory placements, press invites—it all buzzed like a sewing machine on overdrive.
