Episode 5

The party passed without incident, and as soon as she could, she escaped from it to go to her room, take off that annoying dress and the shoes that were already hurting her. After that, she slept peacefully, until in the morning, the commotion started. A maid arrived at her door, knocking insistently, and as soon as she let her in, she asked her to follow her, that something terrible had happened.

And yes, Oscar and Briana were discovered, naked in the same bed, and in it, the proof that Oscar had taken her virtue. As soon as the Count found out about this, he entered that room hitting Oscar, and he slapped Briana for acting like a prostitute messing with her younger sister's fiance, while he shouted at Oscar how disrespectful he had been, for touching his fiancee's sister and because he would cause sadness to his little Aisha, who has only shown him affection and respect.

Aisha did not take long to arrive, but the Countess tried to prevent her from entering the room, yet she did, and there she was, Briana wrapped in the sheet crying from the blow on her cheek, and Oscar asking for forgiveness while assuring that he does not know how it happened. At that moment, his gaze turns towards the door, and guilt invades him, Aisha was seeing that scene.

"Miss Aisha, this...it's not what you think...I don't..." he stutters.

"I see what I am seeing, young Duke..." her eyes become watery. "You have betrayed me, and in the most vile way."

Aisha runs away, and the Countess goes after her, while the Count orders Oscar and Briana to get dressed, but, he waits for them in his office, he also gives the order to go for Oscar's father, since what happened is something extremely serious and must also be dealt with the Duke.

The Countess knocks insistently on Aisha's door, but she refuses to open it, asking to be left alone. Aisha was lying on the bed, leafing through a book while pretending to feel hurt by what she has seen.

"Daughter, please, open...what has happened..."

"I don't want to talk...I can expect a betrayal from a man...but from my own sister?, she is a damn, I always knew she hated me," she sobs.

"It's not like that, dear...there must be an explanation...please come out," asks the Countess.

"No, I won't go out, and less if you are justifying her, let that whore rot in hell," she shouts and then continues crying.

Although she only imitates the sounds of crying, because she is only attentive to her book.

"Don't say that daughter...your sister..."

"That whore is not my sister...if you make me go out, I will gouge out the damn's eyes."

Silence was present and she hears the Countess's footsteps moving away, the poor woman was crying for everything that had happened, her eldest daughter has committed the worst betrayal and her youngest daughter now hates her sister. The Countess goes to the Count's office, to say that Aisha was very hurt and does not want to leave her room. Oscar, who was already in that place, asks to be allowed to go and see Aisha, he needs to talk to her and explain what happened.

"What explanation can you give her?, my little girl is devastated by your fault...and you Briana...I am disappointed...I don't want a daughter like you," the Countess cries, taking her hands to her face.

Briana only purses her lips upon hearing her mother, but, she does not intend to discuss anything, the only thing that mattered to Briana, is that her objective has been achieved, Oscar will be her husband soon. Oscar's father did not take long to arrive, and the Count let him know what had happened, so, as it should be, Oscar must marry Briana, take responsibility for what he has done, but, as the Countess was disappointed with what her daughter did, she refuses to prepare the wedding, so, they must see who takes care of everything, the Count also agreed with his wife, he would only give the part of the dowry that corresponds to him, from there, they do not plan to participate in anything else.

"But father...who will take me to the altar?, what will they say about me?" Briana pleads.

"I don't care what they say, what happens, are the consequences of your actions," he spoke with disappointment.

Both parents do not understand how Briana came to be that kind of person, if, like Aisha, she never lacked the affection of both, their daughters were treated equally, even when one was doing badly in her classes, the treatment was the same, they only told her that she should try harder, but they never compared them.

When the Count says goodbye to the Duke, he returns to his study, while Briana approaches Oscar holding his hand.

"I know that ours was unexpected, but I will strive to be a good wife," she assures, showing a smile.

Oscar brusquely pulls his hand away. "Never expect anything from me, more than my contempt."

Oscar continued his way and got into the carriage quickly, while Briana remains standing, clenching her hands in the skirt of her dress, annoyed by the contempt.

"You'll see...in time you'll realize that you love me..." she whispers.

The days passed, the news of Briana and Oscar's engagement was not long in being known throughout the kingdom, while Aisha had not left her room during those days, only Marcela could come in to leave her food and after that, she was kicked out of the room. At meetings and parties, when Briana showed up, many showed hostility towards her, and mocked her for being an "offered one."

"Be careful ladies, Miss Steiner has arrived, take care of your fiances or they will wake up between the legs of the whore."

Laughter immediately became present, and Briana had to endure the shame, because, no matter how much she defends herself, the mockery does not end. She can even hear how most people pity Aisha, for having such a cruel sister.

Oscar, for his part, went to the events hoping to meet Aisha, but she did not attend any and those who had the opportunity, murmured near Oscar how he was a cynic for cheating on his fiancee with her sister.

In the Steiner mansion, Aisha finally came out, surprising everyone by wearing short hair, her mother almost fainted when she saw that her beautiful long hair had disappeared. But, Aisha only said that it was more comfortable that way and asked them for permission to go with her grandmother, the Baroness Steiner.

"So far away?, dear, you don't have to go...Briana...she will leave soon," asks her mother.

"She doesn't matter, I just think that some time away will do me good, especially because of the gossip that there must be," although she knows that they are all against Briana.

"No, I don't want you to go far...what happened...you will get over it, you are sisters and..."

"No mother, don't use that excuse," she interrupts her.

"Honey, our daughter is right, I think that some time away will do her good," replies the Count.

"But husband, I don't want..."

"It's not what you want, it's what our daughter wants and what is good for her. Besides, my mother will take good care of her, you know she adores her," insists the Count.

The Countess remains silent, and thinks about what her husband tells her, and seeing her daughter's hair, she believes that yes, it would be better to stay away, especially because soon the preparations for Briana's wedding will be made and that may hurt Aisha more.

"Okay...but it will be a few months," she finally gives in.

"Thank you mother, father...and please, I want only you to know...I don't want the young Duke to look for me, not now that he is Briana's fiance...I am not like her," she assures.

Hearing those words from Aisha, causes concern in the Counts, because it shows that she is hurt and angry about what happened.
