A phone call

*buzz buzz*

(Phone ringing)

“Urghh who is calling me this early”

“Hello who’s this?”

(The person who’s calling) “Hey Shane were you sleeping??? Do you know what time it is?!?

“ Huh? What do you mean it’s still 5am......(looking at the alarm) Aaaaaa I’m late!!!” I said while I rushed to get ready.

(Person calling him) “Hey dude relax! It’s a weekend”

“Ohhh phew”

“Ohh why did you call me anyways cole?”I asked.

“Ohh you didn’t know? We are having a college reunion this Friday!” Said cole.

“A college reunion? Is it the one I went the first time or my recent college?” I asked.

I went to two colleges in my life. One was in my hometown B town. The other in the city. I changed my college because my dream was to study in the city and get a decent job. Luckily I was smart enough to graduate and get my dream job. Although it ‘was’ my dream job I don’t feel happy with it. Also there was another reason why I changed my college. It was because of my past. I’m a little sad about it so I don’t talk about it with anyone. Cole doesn’t know about my past life either.After hearing cole say there was a college reunion I felt a little scared that it would be my old college. I met cole at my job. He also went to the same college in B town and the city college! I didn’t really know him back then but he said that he knew me so well just from seeing me from afar. Don’t get the wrong idea we’re just friends. After meeting him at my job, we started to hang out more. We became best friends since then.

“Urghh” I signed. “So are we talking about the city college or......”I paused.

“Ohh it’s the B city college reunion!! Dude we have to go together!” He said excitedly.

Suddenly I felt my heart heavy. I somewhat felt a little scared and a little happy at the same time. If I were to go to the reunion will ‘he’be there.

“Hey you there helloooooo” cole shouted through the phone.

“I’m here. Also don’t we have work this Friday???” I said suddenly.

“Ohhh don’t worry about that. I took a vacation for you and me both! I didn’t wanna go alone to the reunion after all....haha” He laughed nervously.

There was a thing that bugged me after he said that to me. I felt weird around him these days after one incident I encountered. We were getting drinks with the company staffs and well.... I wasn’t a very heavy drinker. I goy so drunk Cole took me home. I don’t know what happened that time abut sonce then, he started acting weird. I try to ignore it because he was my best friend .

“ oh ok” I replied. “I’ll get my clothes packed. Let’s talk about this when we meet.” I said as I was going to the kitchen.
