Episode 3

August

I spent the night drinking Vodka with my friend Gabriel. It was hard for me to bear the condition imposed by my father.

After drinking, I ended up sleeping with some pretty hot women to see if I could de-stress. I'm not even gay, where am I going to get the desire to explore the horizons of another male body? Seriously.

This is my father's perfect technique, imposing something that would mess with my principles a lot. He was already aware of how much I officially wanted the company in my name, and for that he decided to invent this ridiculous charade. This is an offense to me, who am more heterosexual than anything.

I knew I would have a hangover the next day, but that was the goal. That way I would have reasons to only deal with my headache, without seeing the face of my future marriage partner. It makes me nauseous just to imagine ever calling him love. Since it's a marriage by contract, it won't be a very big event.

Just a registration to make it official that we got married. My father at this moment must be laughing at my face all happy.

"Enough, August!" Gabriel grabs my arm "you've drunk too much."

I get stressed.

"Damn it, can't you see I need a distraction? It's not you who is getting married the next day."

"Damn, you get on my nerves when you start drinking non-stop, huh. I'll go there and be right back."

I just shook my head and went back to engaging in the drink. I'm even resistant to vodka, but it made me more aggressive.

I see Gabriel coming back in my direction with a very elegant woman. She was wearing daring black clothes.

"Are you going home now?"

Gabriel asks.

"If it's to end the night with this woman I might even think about it."

"It's not for thinking, damn it" Gabriel was already upset with me "You're going home with her now. Do whatever you want, just don't set the hotel on fire."

I confirmed to him with a look. I felt excited, it was the right time to leave and spend the night. I paid the bill and put my arm around the woman's thin waist.

This was the night I drank the most and fucked sequentially, damn it. I didn't imagine that a fake marriage could disrupt my judgment so much.

I stopped at the pharmacy to buy some painkillers, I told my secretary to organize everything, because tomorrow I would analyze it. Today it was impossible.

I slept all morning and a little of the afternoon, then I went out with Gabriel to the tailor shop to choose the damned suit.

"Looks like someone is getting married faster than me."

Gabriel jokes with the situation.

"I'm just not breaking you here because we're in a public environment. But wait for me."

He loved to get on my nerves. But he's someone who understands me very well. He helped me choose the suit and other preparations.

I kept looking at myself in the mirror inside my room before going to the church. I see myself incredibly ridiculous in the reflection of the mirror. Damn, my father can really ruin someone's life.

Arriving at the church, he was already waiting for me to enter together. I swallowed the situation with pure hatred. Everyone who was invited fixed their gaze on me, soon my hatred rose. I clenched my teeth to not close my face.

As soon as I looked at the altar where the priest was already, I saw the guy I was going to marry. He seemed happy, unlike me. I followed the events of the wedding, but at the time of the kiss there was no one who could make me kiss him. It was impossible for me. Reading his expression, he seemed to want it to happen.

Finally the stress of this marriage passed, after spending some time at the eventual celebration where I talked to his parents, I mentioned being tired and wanting to go home soon. To my surprise his father said:

"It will be good for you to rest and enjoy a little, your house is already available. My son knows the address."

He smiled, while I wasn't finding a bit of grace.

"Excellent. So let's go to our house, Gael?"

I extend my hand to him. I had to maintain the superficiality in front of his parents. In some moments that it was just us two I ignored him, already making it clear that I didn't even want prose. That we were married only for business, so much so that he claimed to have understood.

After giving a brief farewell to all the guests out of mere formality, I accompanied Gael to the car. We would have to leave together, not each one in their separate cars.

A tense climate arose, silence reigned inside his car.

"So, we're married now, right?"

He tries to break the tension.

"You're right, but I'll be clear. Don't think we'll be one of those couples in love who sleep together. This is just a contract."

He went back to concentrating on the road, seeming disappointed.

"I understand. But we can at least talk a little, it's not like I'm a total stranger to you now."

I stared at him very seriously.

"You didn't understand one thing. We will continue to be strangers, don't make me repeat myself. Try as much as possible not to make me lose patience with you. As I said, we are married because of our parents."

Gael indicated that he had understood. During the journey he didn't say another word. It was much better that way.

Even though it was already a bit late at night, I established some rules. As the house was given by his father, with the mere respect I opted to stay in the guest room and he in the main room.

"Can I tell you something?"

I hear his voice a bit hoarse, seeming a little nervous about what he was going to say in the next moment.

"Say it."

"I just wanted to say that I will try as much as possible to make this marriage work."

I ended up laughing with a certain irony.

"It's up to you, as far as I'm concerned we don't even speak a letter with each other."

After saying my last words, I went straight to the guest room. The only thing I hope is that he doesn't do anything to the point of making me lose my patience.
