WHISPERS OF THE HEART'

Lunara held the small red velvet box close to her chest, her fingers tracing its soft edges as if it were a fragile secret. The moment she had dreamed of for years was just ahead, yet her heart raced with a strange mix of excitement and fear. She had practiced what she wanted to say a thousand times in her mind each time trying to find the perfect words, the perfect way to show what she truly felt.

"Elias," she whispered to the quiet room, her voice barely above a breath. "I love you. I’ve loved you silently, from afar, waiting for the right moment. Will you be mine?" She repeated it again, and again, sometimes stumbling over the words, sometimes sounding confident and sure. Each version felt different, like a new layer of herself revealing what she had kept hidden for so long.

She imagined his face soft, kind eyes that had been her quiet support all these years. She pictured the way he would look when she finally told him everything, hoping he would understand the weight of her feelings. Her lips moved silently as she rehearsed lines in front of the mirror, turning phrases this way and that, searching for the words that would reach his heart.

"Elias," she murmured, "you’ve been my strength when I had none. I want to share my life with you, to build a future together. Will you walk this path with me?" She smiled faintly, but her chest tightened with nervousness. What if the words weren’t enough? What if she faltered in the moment?

Throughout the day, her thoughts circled the same words. Every quiet corner of her mind became a stage for her rehearsals. She imagined him listening carefully, a gentle smile spreading across his face, and then the hope that he would say yes the word she longed to hear more than anything.

As the night settled, sleep finally claimed her, but the rehearsal didn’t stop. In her dream, the world softened around her as she stood under a moonlit sky, the silver light casting a gentle glow on Elias’s face. Her heart beat fast, but her voice was steady as she spoke.

"Elias," she said, eyes shimmering with tears, "I’ve held these feelings inside for too long, afraid to speak them aloud. But now, I am ready. I love you, more than words can say. Will you be mine?"

Elias reached out, taking her hands in his. His smile was warm and full of promise. "Lunara, I’ve been waiting for this day. I love you too, with all my heart. Let’s face the future together."

Tears spilled down her cheeks, and his did too. They embraced tightly, as if holding on would freeze time itself. In that moment, there was no fear, no doubt only pure love and hope.

When Lunar woke the dream’s warmth stayed with her, filling her with quiet courage. The rehearsals, the doubts, the hopes they all led to this feeling: that maybe, just maybe, her perfect words were waiting to be spoken.
