In the party

Manny wore a simple shirt, a pair of pants and sneakers. She only rubbed lip gloss and stopped out of her house. She was going to show that she was no longer the weak girl they once knew but could now conquer the world. Furthermore, she hoped Jason wouldn't back down, but it didn't matter she could do this with or without him anyway. She got into the bus and went to the address of the party. Of all the places she could choose why here? A lace she had made a lot of happy memories in, somewhere close to her heart. She knew the reason all too well. Tara wanted to crush those happy memories with the bad ones she was going to make. Who knew that her best friend since childhood would turn around and stab her in the back like that? Manny felt tears rolled down her cheek and she quickly cleaned them. She felt Soo alone, Soo confused, Soo lost and heartbroken standing on the edge of a curb staring blankly at the shop. Her hand tightened on her bag she had over her shoulder as she taught. "Maybe I shouldn't go. Just make an excuse. No one will know just make something up...but if I do that I'm not sure I'll be able to ever come back here again. Besides what will I tell Jason? He already agreed. What if he doesn't show up?" she sighed to cool her nerves and decided to make up her mind and go in. she counted down mentally. 3...2...1...and she quickly walked towards the shop ignoring all the bad thoughts and pushing them to the back of her mind. There was no turning back now. She swung the door open and the familiar bell rang as she entered looking over at their usual table which was of course booked. Once in her life she could actually call them family but now she just didn't know anymore. She almost broke down but swallowed it no not Infront of aunty, uncle, grandma and grand pa. They were all here and had no idea that Tara and Manny weren't in good terms so she couldn't break down. She also didn't want to be the centre of attention too. Suddenly the sweet aroma of food was making her sick in her stomach. Everyone welcomed her warmly except from Shane and Tara's dad. His eyes looked at her as though he knew something wasn't right and figure out she wasn't happy. He'd always been the only one who can read through her apart form Shane. She was glad Tara wasn't yet present she couldn't face her yet. As if on cue, she came walking in like she owned the place. Her long legs were bare as she wore a short dress and with her heels clicking on the floor she received stares of admiration, lust and desire from almost all the men in the shop except from her boyfriend who had no care in the world. Shane sat on his chair scrolling away in his phone and totally ignoring her even when she greeted everyone at the table. He was going against the plan and she couldn't let it flunk so she walked up to him. "hey babe. how are you doing?" she said giving him a hug and whispering "u know what I'll do if this flunks right?""am good and you ? I didn't notice you. my bad" "oh it's fine"she said removing her hands from him. Manny wasn't buying thier act with a glance you could see that it was fake. Shane was definitely giving himself away. Oh Tara how could you stoop Soo low? "Oh Manny I didn't see you there" you obviously did but skipped greeting me on purpose but who cares? she said inwardly "Oh where's your boyfriend? he couldn't make it?" now everyone was looking at her expectantly. she felt a lump in her throat as the air grew tense. she had no idea what to say. she didn't know if he was on his way or not because she couldn't get through to him although she called and texted him before she started leaving her house. Tara was growing bold to her silence and pestered. "Miss Manny Hollister. Where is your boyfriend?" she said in a mocking tone. Tara's dad was surprised that Tara was talking to her friend in such a disrespectful manner but decide not to interfere yet. Just then, Jason entered looking for thier table. he looked like he rushed here with his shirt crumpled and tie loose with disheveled hair. she hasn't been Soo relieved to see a stranger in her entire life. Manny beamed at Tara and said"am sorry he appeared a bit late. please forgive his rudeness Miss Tara Malcolm it must have been hard to shift work but at least he's here now" she walked up to Jason with the brightest smile she had. Right now as she looked at him he was her knight in shiny armor who rescued her from the hands of her nemesis. She knew that with him around everything was going to be alright they were going to wreck Tara's plan together. Jason was also taken aback by her reaction he was expecting her to be mad or upset but this reaction was...unique.She swiftly locked her arm in his holding him firm as she pulled him towards thier table. "Am deeply sorry for arriving late and keeping everyone waiting. Something urgent came up in the office. My name is Jason" he said as he bowed wooing everyone with his composure and calm yet slightly domineering presence. He put in a lot of effort not to look as terrifying as he normally did. He almost wanted to cancel on her but seeing how diligently she had worked and the eagerness he saw in her eyes whenever they discussed the plan he just couldn't and now he was here.
