Chapter 1 – The Broken Heart~

The night was dark. The sky had no stars. It was cold, just like Taehyung’s heart.

He sat alone in his big, quiet apartment. The lights were off. The only light came from the TV, but he wasn't watching it. His eyes were red. His face was pale. He looked tired, sick, and sad.

He held a photo in his hand…

It was a picture of him, his husband Jeon Jungkook, and their little son. They looked happy in the photo. But Taehyung knew it was fake. That smile on his face was fake. The love in his heart was gone.

Or so he thought.

“I hated them,” Taehyung whispered, tears falling down his cheeks. “I hated Jungkook. I hated my son... I was so blind.”

His fingers touched Jungkook’s face in the picture.

“You gave me everything. A house. A luxury life. A good life love care And I… I gave you pain.”

He started crying harder now. The guilt was too heavy.

Taehyung was once a proud man. He thought love was stupid. He thought marriage was a joke. And being a mother~?? He never wanted that.

He remembered the first time he told Jungkook he didn’t love him..

“I didn’t marry you because I love you,” Taehyung had said coldly. “I only married you because my parents forced me.”

Jungkook didn’t say anything back then. He never showed his pain. He just stayed quiet. He always stayed quiet.

But Taehyung didn’t know that Jungkook was breaking inside.

Taehyung’s tears didn’t stop. His hands were shaking.

He got up and walked to the kitchen. He poured himself a glass of water. But his legs were weak. The glass fell and broke. Just like his heart.

He fell to the floor, holding his head.

“I lost everything…”

He thought about his son. That little boy who used to smile when he came near. Who called him “mummy” with so much love. But Taehyung never answered with love. He would look away. He would push him aside.

“I was a monster…”

Then he thought about her. Jennie.

His best friend.

No. His ex-best friend.

The one who always whispered in his ear:

>> “Jungkook doesn’t love you.”

“You deserve better.”

“He’s just using you.”

“You should leave him…”

And he listened.

He divorced Jungkook.

And only one month later… Jennie married him.

It broke Taehyung’s soul.

But he couldn’t blame anyone else.

It was his fault.

Now, sitting in that empty house, Taehyung wanted one thing.

To go back.

To go back and love Jungkook the way he deserved.

To go back and hold his son in his arms and kiss his soft cheeks.

To go back and punch Jennie in the face for lying to him.

To go back and scream the truth to Jungkook:

>> “I LOVE YOU!”

But time doesn't go back.

The phone rang.

Taehyung wiped his face and answered.

It was his lawyer.

>> “Mr. Kim, the company… it’s all gone. Jennie has taken control. She tricked you.”

Taehyung didn’t reply.

He didn’t feel surprised. Nothing shocked him anymore.

Jennie had not only taken his husband… she had stolen his life.

She used him.

She played with his emotions.

And he fell for it like a fool.

“I need to see Jungkook,” Taehyung whispered.

>> “It’s too late, Mr. Kim…”

“No. I have to say sorry. I HAVE TO!” he yelled and hung up.

He grabbed his car keys and ran outside.

The rain was heavy. The roads were wet. But Taehyung didn’t care.

He drove fast.

His hands were tight on the steering wheel. His mind was filled with only one name.

Jungkook.

“I need to see him,” Taehyung whispered again and again. “I don’t care if he hates me. I just want him I want to say sorry.”

He remembered the last time they spoke.

Jungkook’s voice was calm but cold.

>> “You’ll regret this, Taehyung.”

He was right.

Taehyung regretted everything.

Suddenly…

BANG!

A truck hit the side of Taehyung’s car.

His body flew. His head hit the window. Blood ran down his face.

The car turned, hit the divider, and rolled down the hill.

It was fast. Too fast.

Taehyung couldn’t breathe.

His eyes were slowly closing.

And the last thing he saw…

Was Jennie standing on the road… with a smile on her face.

“Goodbye, Tae,” her lips said.

His heart stopped.

Everything went black.

But… then… a voice came.

>> “Do you want another chance~??”

Taehyung was floating in white space. His body was light. His pain was gone.

He opened his eyes.

“I want to go back,” he said.

>> “Why~??”

“I want to love my son. I want to protect my husband. I want to fix everything…”

>> “Do you promise to love with your whole heart~??”

“I promise.”

>> “Then… wake up.”
