Morning light crept in through the windows of the massive Kim estate, bathing Y/N’s room in soft gold. She stirred awake to the unfamiliar weight of warmth surrounding her. Jungkook had fallen asleep on the edge of her bed, his hand still wrapped tightly around hers. Jimin was sprawled on the couch with a blanket half covering him, and Taehyung sat on the floor beside the bed with his back resting against it, head tilted, softly snoring.
For a moment, she didn’t know where she was.
And then the ache returned—her body still sore from yesterday’s shock, her stomach empty, and her heart heavier than ever.
As she shifted, Jungkook stirred. “Y/N…?” His voice was raspy, filled with sleep and something heavier—guilt.
She didn’t respond. Just blinked at the ceiling.
“Are you… are you okay?”
She nodded slightly. Not because she was okay, but because she didn’t know how to express what she was really feeling.
The door creaked open. Jin peeked in with a tray in his hands. “You’re awake?”
Y/N sat up slowly. “Yes.”
“I made porridge,” he said gently, walking in. “Just like Mom used to make it when we were sick.”
Jungkook helped adjust her pillows as Jin placed the tray in front of her, adding a small bowl of cut fruit. “Eat slowly, okay? We’ll sit with you.”
“I’m not really hungry…” she mumbled.
“Please try a little,” Jimin said softly from the couch. “You’ve hardly eaten in days.”
Y/N took the spoon but only stirred the porridge.
That’s when Namjoon entered, holding a small folder. He knelt beside her bed. “Y/N… I asked our family doctor to come later today. I hope that’s okay. We need to make sure you’re healthy.”
“I don’t want to go to the hospital.”
“You don’t have to,” he reassured. “The doctor will come here. Just to make sure everything’s okay after… yesterday.”
She nodded again. No protest.
Namjoon stood and exchanged glances with the others before turning back to her. “Also… I wanted to say something. All of us do.”
The room slowly filled—J-Hope and Yoongi joining from the hall.
Namjoon sat on the edge of her bed. “We failed you.”
“You were right,” Yoongi added. “We didn’t ask. We didn’t notice.”
“We should’ve been your shield, not your punishment,” Taehyung murmured, voice low.
“We hit you when you needed hugs,” Jimin whispered.
“We told you to be perfect when all you needed was to be understood,” Jin said.
“I should’ve been there when you cried,” Jungkook whispered, his eyes shining. “I should’ve known…”
Y/N stared at them. Her vision blurred.
“…Why now?” she asked, voice small. “Why does it matter now?”
“Because we almost lost you,” Namjoon said honestly. “And that woke us up.”
“We were so busy trying to ‘protect’ the family from outside threats,” J-Hope added, “we became the threat inside.”
Jin took her hand. “No more punishments, Y/N. Only understanding. You don’t need to be perfect for us.”
She opened her mouth, closed it, then finally choked out, “I… I don’t know how to trust you again.”
The silence that followed was filled with heartbreak.
“You don’t have to,” Yoongi finally said. “Not right away. But let us try.”
That afternoon, the doctor arrived—a kind woman named Dr. Yoon.
Y/N flinched when she saw the stethoscope, shrinking into the bed, but Taehyung gently held her hand. “We’ll stay with you. We won’t leave the room.”
And they didn’t.
Dr. Yoon explained everything about periods—using simple words, answering every embarrassed question Y/N whispered. She talked about cramps, emotional swings, food cravings, and how all of it was completely normal.
Then she looked at the brothers. “You’ll need to stock pads of different sizes. Heating pads help with the cramps. Give her more iron-rich food. Don’t panic if she’s moody. Just be gentle.”
Jin wrote everything down. J-Hope set reminders on his phone. Jungkook quietly ordered three kinds of pads online. Namjoon made a chart for meals.
For the first time, Y/N watched them work together—not as mafia bosses, but as brothers.
For her.
Later that evening, Jimin knocked gently on her door. “Wanna come out to the living room?”
Y/N hesitated. “Why?”
“We… prepared something.”
Curious, she stepped out slowly, and her eyes widened.
The massive living room was transformed.
There was a huge blanket fort—built with couch cushions, fairy lights, and giant stuffed animals. A pile of snacks sat nearby. A movie was cued on the projector.
Jungkook popped his head out from the fort. “It’s the ‘We Suck as Brothers but Want a Second Chance’ fort.”
J-Hope held up a bowl of popcorn. “Membership includes warm hugs and unlimited ice cream.”
Jin added, “And a no-yelling, no-punishment-ever-again policy.”
Yoongi raised a brow. “Unless you kill someone. But we’ll help you hide the body.”
Y/N couldn’t help the tiny laugh that escaped her lips.
Jimin grinned. “She laughed! It worked!”
Taehyung opened the blanket flap. “Princess, your throne awaits.”
She crawled into the fort, half-laughing, half-crying.
And for the first time in years, she felt like she was home.
