The prestigious Royal Polaris Academy buzzed with energy as the new semester officially began. Students filled the First-Year Elite Classroom—bright-eyed, arrogant, excited. Everyone wore crisp uniforms, pressed and spotless, their gazes either calculating or curious. It was, after all, the classroom where the next generation of world leaders, CEOs, politicians, and military elites were shaped.
The morning sun filtered through the tall windows of Class 3-A, casting golden rectangles across the polished floor. A hushed excitement filled the air—today was the first day of the new semester.
Shi Yue sat near the back, lips curled into a soft smile as he leaned against the desk, chin propped on his hand. His peach-blossom eyes scanned the classroom, glittering with mischief.
Zhang Jie was already seated beside him, upright and distant as usual. His uniform was perfectly worn, hair meticulously styled, and his cold aura made it clear—he was not here to make friends.
Shi Yue in his mind starts talking to system. (''Yinbao I will call you Yinbao from now on. Do you like the name.")
> [System 0018: "Yes host I like it. Name is like me cute he-he."]
("Yes just like you") Shi Yue said with a small smile.
Xia Yan entered soon after, her soft smile lighting up the room. She took the seat near the window, waving shyly at Zhang Jie. Li Mei followed, laughing at something on her phone, and gave Shi Yue a cheerful nod as she sat beside Xia Yan.
A few minutes later, the classroom door clicked open. Two figures entered together—Ren Zhaoyuan and Liang Yushen. The room fell into a stunned silence.
Ren Zhaoyuan, with his tall frame and sharp eyes, exuded an aura of untouchable cold. Clad in the same uniform but looking far more regal than a student should, he didn’t even glance at the others. Liang Yushen, in contrast, smiled charmingly, offering polite nods to those he passed, but his gaze held the weight of someone who'd lived too many lifetimes in silence.
Their surnames alone made the room tense—Ren and Liang. Each from families that could make countries bow with a word.
The homeroom teacher entered, breaking the spell. “Alright, everyone, settle down. I’m Mr. Feng, your homeroom teacher. Let’s begin with introductions.”
One by one, the students stood up, their surnames making everyone straighten in their seats—heirs of global pharmaceutical giants, tech empires, military dynasties. All with glittering resumes, all expected to one day dominate the world stage.
Then came Shi Yue’s turn.
He rose gracefully, the room expecting nothing remarkable.
"Jiang Min.” he said with a lazy smile. “I like sweet things, music, and sleeping in. I hope we get along.”
His voice was soft but melodious, wrapping around every syllable like a gentle breeze on a spring day. There was something strangely magnetic about him—too composed, too perfect for someone with a background so... ordinary.
Ren Zhaoyuan, who had been idly staring out the window, suddenly turned his head. His fingers twitched against the desk. A strange warmth passed through his chest.
> [System notification: Ren Zaoyuan: Favourability+10]
Liang Yushen, who had been scribbling in his notebook, paused mid-stroke. His brows furrowed subtly as he stared at Shi Yue. Why… does his voice make my heart race?
> [System notification: Liang Yushen: Favourability+10]
They didn’t know why, but something had shifted. Shi Yue’s presence stirred something ancient and familiar inside them, like a long-lost melody they couldn’t name.
A week passed.
Despite Shi Yue’s graceful demeanor, whispers began to float around the classroom.
“Why’s he even here?”
“He’s not from any of the known families, right?”
“Illegitimate child of the Jiangs, I heard. Probably just a charity case.”
Shi Yue never reacted. He’d laugh it off, or play dumb. He was too busy manipulating the plot behind the scenes to bother with petty bullying. Still, he didn’t expect what happened next.
During lunch, one particularly loud student pushed Shi Yue’s tray from the table.
“Oops,” the student sneered. “My hand slipped.”
Before Shi Yue could even react, a hand shot out.
Zhang Jie slammed his own tray down beside Shi Yue’s, eyes icy. “Pick it up,” he said coldly to the offender.
“Huh?”
“You heard me,” Zhang Jie growled. “Pick it up. And apologize.”
The room stilled. No one expected the aloof heir of the Zhang Conglomerate to defend a no-name.
At the same time, Xia Yan hurried over with napkins, kneeling to help Shi Yue clean up. “You okay? That was awful.”
Shi Yue blinked. For a moment, his smirk faltered.
“I'm fine,” he said, smiling. “Thanks for helping.”
From that day on, the teasing slowed. And the dynamic shifted.
Xia Yan began lingering near Shi Yue and Zhang Jie and occasionally brushing their fingers when passing notes or offering a silent, shared glance.
Xia Yan laughed more when Shi Yue was around. She began to smile differently when talking to Zhang Jie—softer, more hesitant, more aware.
And while love began to blossom between the designated pair...
Two pairs of eyes watched from afar—Ren Zhaoyuan’s calculating stare and Liang Yushen’s conflicted gaze.
They didn’t know it yet, but the moment Shi Yue spoke, he’d already taken root in their hearts.
Not as a pawn.
But as the beginning of a storm.
