CHAPTER FOUR

“I’m not saying I’m dramatic, but if I ever disappear—just know I did it with full makeup and a matching outfit.” – Chaavi Mehra

---

Author’s POV – Two Days Later | Mumbai– Client Project Site

Corporate luxury retreat.

Translation: fancy resort, forced smiles, overpriced mineral water, and client meetings disguised as “relaxed brainstorming.”

Chaavi arrived with the team looking like a glam tornado in sunglasses, chewing gum like it was personal revenge. She was wearing a white shirt knotted above high-waisted flared pants, hoop earrings, and walking like she owned the lake behind the hotel.

Ruhan, in contrast, was all black linen, silent storm mode.

“Morning, Mr. Kapoor,” she said smoothly,“I’ve already sent today’s briefs to the board. Also, Aarav will be joining us too.

“Who?” Ruhaan asked, still mildly thrown.

“Aarav Singh,” came a voice from behind.

Aarav snorted. Ruhan glared. In walked Aarav—his long-time friend, business associate, and occasional party-crashing nuisance.

Wearing a smug grin, black sunglasses (indoors), and a vibe that said, I’m here to ruin your peace, bro.

"Bro this resort is so posh, even the mosquitoes come with room service.”

Aarav chuckled..ruhaan glared.

“Well, well,” ruhaan said, glancing between them. “ this is the same girl who once addressed you as Aree Beta Tum Kaun Ho! outside my cabin!”

Chaavi cleared her throat. “In my defense, you were wearing chappals and a Hulk t-shirt.”

(who are you son?)

Aarav chuckled. “Fair.”

Ruhaan, still watching her like she might combust into glitter any second, finally said, “Let’s start the meeting.”

Hotel Lobby – Ritz Grand, Mumbai | Late Morning

Ruhaan walked beside her, his stride composed but commanding.

She glanced at him sideways. “Kitna silent killer banke chal rahe ho... bas background mein James Bond ka music missing hai.”

(“You’re walking around like such a silent killer… all that’s missing is James Bond music in the background.”)

Ruhaan didn’t break the stride. “Tumhare dialogues hi background music hain.”

(“Your dialogues are the only background music I need.”)

Client Meeting – Rooftop Lounge

The client was a luxury property developer from Dubai. Sophisticated, polished, and allergic to boring presentations.

Enter: Team Kapoor.

Chaavi clicked through slides with flair. “This campaign is not just about grandeur. It’s about telling a story. A royal legacy—packaged for Instagram but classy enough to impress nani too.”

Client chuckled. “Interesting analogy.”

Ruhan arched a brow. “We aim to be creative without compromising professionalism.”

Chaavi added with a grin, “Basically, we’re like biryani. Spicy, layered, and way better than plain rice.”

Client laughed out loud. “I like her. She’s not afraid to make marketing fun.”

Ruhan sipped water, jaw tight. “She’s afraid of very little,. Mostly deadlines and decaf.”

Later That Night – Hotel Lobby

Ruhaan “chaavi why do you behave like this all the time..don't You have any self conscience”.

Chaavi blinked. “Anyway. I’m off to prank Aarav by replacing his cologne with room spray. Bye!”

“Do you even bother to listen to what I say to you”

Ruhan stood there, watching her bounce away in her heels

Trouble.

In lipstick.

And probably… his favorite headache.
