CHP 5 : Can't bear

Ning Ran drove around the city after dropping her confused assistant at her place. With the glass rolled down wind rushed at her face as she supported it with her arm placed on window sill.

 Streets were no longer busy as it was way past the office hours. If not for the occasionally one or two vehicles that could be seen the roads were mostly deserted in this area of City S.

Soon both sides of road were dominated by natural greenery. Soon two large buildings came into view. As the car moved closer one can see lake aisle written at the entrance in elegant and sharp letters.

After parking her car Ning Ran went into building from basement parking.

Building was twenty floors, not to big nor to small. She has a condo on 17th floor, each floor has only two condos. She is alone on her floor since no one lives in condo next to her, it saved her from dealing with neighbors. Though she comes here only occasionally.

Condo was simple and tidy. Opened the balcony after changing into her home slippers, to let some fresh air in.

Without wasting time she went to bed after changing into a cozy, oversized beige knit sweater with a V-neckline and a chunky cable-knit pattern. The sweater has a loose, relaxed fit with long sleeves that are slightly bunched up at her delicate wrists. It was paired with high-waisted black shorts, emphasizing her thin waist, while displaying her long slender legs . Her long, dark hair is worn down over the shoulders.

It 4 am when she woke up, after some morning exercise and getting fresh, she went to make breakfast.

Last night she came abruptly without planning and didn't check the groceries due to feeling overwhelmed by sleep. After checking grocery in kitchen she found few vegetables and some dairy products like milk, butter and yogurt and some flour.

At last decided to make a do with instant noodles. Since it was past 7 and cooking after buying groceries, she might get late for work. Since it will take longer to drive from here to her company and to her habit of punctuality, she can't take being late.

After finishing her rather not so good breakfast, she left for her company.

It was already 8:30 am when she reached the company, there was a light buzz in lobby as many employees were needed to reach before her. The moment she walked past the receptionist, who was already standing alert, the lobby quietened down. Soon Chen Nan walked to her holding a big MacBook with few assistants following behind her.

" good morning CEO "

Ning Ran nodded in acknowledgement and kept walking towards the private lift. All the assistant and other employee didn't dare to lift there head, until she walked inside the lift due to Ning Ran's aura.

She changed into a camel-colored turtleneck sweater tucked into custom-made high-waisted black tailored trousers with a subtle flare at the bottom matched with black structured blazer layered over the top while a statement wide belt with a large rectangular gold buckle that cinches the waist emphasized her beautiful figure.

NR Cooperation being headquartered is building of 79 floor. Ning Ran's office is on 77th floor. Half of the floor was taken up by office of secretary and assistants while rest was taken by her office.

" today's schedule " asked solemnly Ning Ran as she sits behind her desk.

" At 10 am meeting with planning and finance department for our next step in entertainment industry followed by lunch with executive from leone company for collaboration on new luxury resort in R city" replied Chen Nan.

The list went on for next 2 minutes.

" At last online meeting for our new branch expansion at 12:30 am" Chen Nan sighed after she finished reading the schedule.

How can she not sigh, she was just at edge of crying in her heart as she will have to be with Ning Ran all this time.

On usual days there are 4 to 5 meetings with different departments as after every few weeks their company clinches new projects, so it was unavoidable. While there are three to four meetings with other companies executive. In between whole schedule there is only one 30 minutes break.

" Just push back the meeting with Xio Co-op to next week " said Ning Ran

It's still not the prime time of year!!!

Thought Chen Nan as she massaged her temples after going through to today's overly tight schedule, three times more than that of usual schedule.

Pls boss just push one more meeting back than I can breathe at least.

Chen prayed in her heart but, for some reason it didn't work. Ning Ran didn't say anything further and started reviewing and signing the documents.

Unable bear this Chen Nan turned to leave for her cabin. Not soon after reaching her cabin, Chen Nan received call.

" cancel today's schedule " Ning Ran's bone chilling voice came through phone.

Chen Nan can't help but, shiver. Call was disconnected without giving her chance to respond. She can't help but feel frustrated, as today's schedule over all can worth around thousand million dollars. Though It is going to be tortures to deal with meetings with other companies, she didn't dare to refuse Ning Ran. As she knew better than negotiating with this woman.
