"Mama... Where are we going to?"

Eleanor asked her mom, looking at her with pure innocence.

She wore a pink frock and her hair was plated.

Her mom, Angela, looked at 5 year old Daughter her daughter with nothing but coldness in her eyes.

"You are going to stay here"

"New home?"

A moment of silence struck

"Yes, your new home"

Eleanor tried to read the banner outside the big house she saw

"What was that written?"

"Nothing"

Angela answered, They walked in, Angela held Eleanor's hand and walked with a pace she couldn't keep up

Busy looking at the garden she hardly paid attention to what her mom said to the unknown lady until she felt her mom letting her go and walking

"Mama! Wait for me!"

She tried to walk but was stopped by the lady her mom was talking to

"Mama!"

She watched her mom as she got inside the car, she could feel her eyes on her, ann ounce of guilt in it, until she drove away.

"Mama?"

Eleanor called out softly, she was, frozen there, Kept telling herself her mama would come back for her! For her!

She loved her, didn't she? She always told her that when her dad was with them, but after he left them alone for someone else, she hadn't once said that to her.

But deep down Eleanor refused to agree, her mama loved her! She knew it! She was right.... Or?....

Sitting on the stairs in front of the huge door, she looked at the sun setting down

5 hours.... 5 hours since her mom left....

She kept telling the stranger lady that her mama would come back, but the lady kept denying, her eyes red from crying and scratch marks on her arms from when the lady tried to drag her inside.

Her new frock was dirty, Her mom bought it for her yesterday, She liked it so much, her mom gave her the new dress and told her that they were going somewhere special...

What was so special for a 5-year-old without her mom who was like the world to her?

Did she do something wrong? Was she naughty? If not? Why did her mom leave her here? With strangers?

Night came and Eleanor refused to move... Until her eyes closed

"Wake up!"

Eleanor's eyes jerked open upon hearing her mother-in-law's harsh voice from downstairs.

She was 23 now, married to a man she loved, Jason Conner, a well known small businessman, She loved him from the bottom of her heart, but little did she know he didn't love her exactly....

Eleanor's POV

I came downstairs fixing my dress as I approached the kitchen...

"Do you need any help mom?"

I asked her, she looked at me with a glare

"What's the time??!"

I flinched at the harsh tone...

I looked at the clock and again at her timidly…

"30 minutes past 7"

"And when are you supposed to wake up?!"

Looking at the ground I bit my lip...

"Seven"

"How irresponsible can you be Eleanor!? Did your mother never teach you how to be a good girl? Oh! wait... She left you because you were useless... I wonder what Jason saw in you"

I bit my lip at that

"Mom please...."

I turned at the voice, it was Jason, my husband, standing at his height of 5'9, handsome and his blond hair all messy

"Stop blaming her... She is a human too..."

He spoke for me! Me!!!!!

"Get me a coffee Eleanor"

He told me as I nodded and proceeded to make his coffee.

I was surely excited about our second anniversary, Only three more weeks to go.....
