Chapter 5 - Her sobs

Sebastian POV

I ditched the school for the first time in my life , but I don't regret it at all because I got to spend time with her . The time I spent with her made me realize that she curses/sweres a lot . I know I should not behave like baby but I can't help it , it just getting me uncomfortable . Even after spending so much time in mafia/underworld I still haven't got used to swering .

I looked at my watch what time it is as Lucus was gonna pick me up for the group study at 5 . Shit its 4:30 , I quickly got dressed and packed my bag with books . It was 4:45 , I still had some time so I made myself some coffee . I just love coffee so much . It was 4:55 when I heard the bell ring . I still had apron around my waist which I forgot I was wearing and went to open the door .

As I opened the door , a face came in my view , the same face which I was not able to remove from my mind . The same beautiful face which I longed to see all day . She cleared her throat and I realized I was staring . I blushed and looked away while gesturing her to come in . God she brings out the embarrassing side of me .

"Um I brought you some cake ? " She said nervously as it sounded more like a question than a statement. "You didn't have to do so ." I said , I didn't wanted to trouble her . She gave me a reassuring smile " Its fine , I made some extra , so I bought you some . " I nodded , I felt good that it didn't trouble her but I was kinda disappointed too cuz I thought that she made it specially for me . But come on I just met her today .

"So....you ready ? " she asked "Yea I was just having some coffee . Would to like to join me for some ? " she smiled "Sure " . We went and sat at the table "How would you like your coffee ? " she seemed startled "what ? " I chuckled at her behavior " I asked how would you like your coffee ? "

"Ohh a plain black coffee without sugar , thanks " I gave her coffee and sat down to join her . " I thought Lucus was gonna come ? " I asked her " He had some stuff to deal with , so I came instead " I nodded in response .

We were leaving my apartment and suddenly she touched my shoulder , I don't know why or how , I felt sparks when we touched , I turned around to face her still holding the handle to the half closed door . She looked like she was trying to control her laughter " I think you would like to remove the apron now . I don't think you would like others to see it ."

I looked at myself and realized that this whole time with her I was wearing a apron , but that wasn't the problem , the problem was the apron had some princess drawn in the center and had little hearts everywhere and in between them was written ' I love Cinderella ' . Ok now don't ask me how I got this , that's a story for some other time . I blushed so hard that I was looking like a red bell pepper . I quickly got rid of the apron and we reached her car , it was a beautiful cherry red colored one . I don't really have interests in car so I don't know which was it , but it looked really nice one.

We sat in the car and as she started it the engine roared to life . We were driving for 10 mins and my eyelids started getting heavy , I didn't know when but I fell asleep .

Scarlett POV

My baby fell asleep during the ride , he was looking so cute it was breaking my heart that I needed to wake him up later . I sighed and continued to drive towards the pack house . As we reached the border of the pack 2 guards came out and stopped me . I frowned and came out of car .

"What happened ? " they looked at each other and then turned to face me . "Nathan , ryder ? Tell me what happened ". Nathaniel (nathan ) is my delta , my forth in command and ryder is my head warrior. " Alpha we have caught a rouge and he wants to talk to you . He says its important , about your parents death . " I felt as if the world stopped . " where is he ? " I asked my voice cold , devoid of any emotions . " H-he is at the p-pack h-house with b-beta , ga-gamma and your b-brother . "

I sat back in the car and sped to the pack house . Sebastian yawned beside me " I-I'm sorry , I drifted off to sleep ." My cold alpha mode had already kicked in , I nodded stiffly . He looked a uncomfortable , I felt guilty for making him feel like that but I need some answers .

We reached the pack house in less than 5 mins , I got out hurriedly and took Sebastian's hand and went to the pack house . " Lucus " he came in front of me as I called him " Take him to my room and you know what to do " he nodded and took Sebastian upstairs to my room. "Mike , go with them " he followed them .

Sebastian POV

I have no idea what was happening . Scarlett looked cold after I woke up , did I say something in my sleep ? I shook my head . Even Lucus and mike looked different, they looked tense .

"Um what is going on ? " I asked Lucus . He looked at mike and sighed " Its not our place or our story to tell you , if you want answers , scarlett is the one you should go to . " Mike piped in "And if you really want answers you should prepare yourself to embrace it ." I was so confused , what is going on exactly ?

As we reached upstairs , Lucus opened a door to a room . The room was cold and it looked like it was only used to sleep in . There was a king sized bed placed adjoined to a wall at a corner . A study table was placed right beside the bed . A walk in closet , a book shelf and a door which was connected to bathroom I guess .

That was it , the room didn't have any homely feeling at all . The walls were painted in a faint shade of grey , there was a big glass door connecting the room to a balcony . To be honest , the balcony had more homely feeling than the room .

We were Sitting in the balcony in silence enjoying the sounds of nature . I dont know how long we were sitting there but when I heard the chair scraping , I looked around to see Lucus and Mike going out of room .

"Hey , where are you going ? " Lucus looked at me and said "We are going back to our rooms " "Oh can you please drop me back home ? " I asked . Lucus shook his head "I think you should stay here tonight , its already late and I think scarlett would like your presence right now " he whispered the last part .

"What ? " I asked confused "Nothing , I think you should stay the night , its late , scarlett will be back soon " saying this he went to his room . Mike had already left .

~After 15 mins ~

Suddenly the door opened and a stressed looking Scarlett came in mutter some curses under her breath . She looked a little surprised by my presence , suddenly she same towards me and hugged me . If I say I was shocked it would be an understatement . I felt something wet on my shoulder and realized she was crying . I had no idea what to do , so I hugged her back and started patting her back softly , whispering sweet things in her ears .

Third person POV

Never in her life she had cried so sadly , she felt guilty , sad , raged , confusion all at once . And when she saw her mate , she lost it . She didn't know what to do , she felt so helpless , her wolf was whimpering from within . As he hugged her back and started patting and whispering , her sobs came out loudly and she started saying " It was all - sobs - my fault , if it wasn't for me , they wouldn't - sobs - have died - sobs - its all my fault . "

"Shh , its not your fault , don't blame yourself , everything is gonna be alright . stop crying now , shh " he started rocking her back and forth . She eventually stopped crying , feeling content in his arms , she fell asleep .
