chapter 5: poisoned

cho-wonhwa and kim park-so roamed around the fortress, exploring the tall trees and fresh breeze and fishing 🎣 in the nearby lake. they spent much time together and started to get along with each other than usual. on that night, they were attacked by sorcerers. cho-wonhwa and kim park-so stood side by side as they unsheath their katana blade and began to flick their sword. as they were fighting , they killed three of the sorcerers while one of the sorcerers burned out as a result of too much flow of qi, so only one sorcerer was left. both cho-wonhwa and kim park-so joined forces together in order to defeat the sorcerer, but at the latter of the intense battle , they both thought that they had defeated the sorcerer but then he slowly stood up when their guards were down although cho-wonhwa noticed it but he blasted/discharged an energy ball moulded from his corrupted qi that should have gotten hold of kim park-so but instead cho-wonhwa took the hit for kim park-so and gradually lost consciousness until she reached the bare ground. kim park-so seeing this was so outrageous that he burst out an immense energy of blue wave empowered by his qi, which blew off the sorcerer and led to his death before he could reincarnate his soul. kim park-so did everything possible to wake cho-wonhwa up , but all his efforts were futile to his attempt. kim park-so returned back to the kwaechugwan fortress, so cho-wonhwa was taken to her room. lord kim min-soo questioned kim park-so on what happened, so he told him everything. cho-wonhwa's ill health was getting worse by each day as her skin was turning pale. kim park-so visited the Oracle of lady gwan-ji, the high priestess to seek help. few days after, lady gwan-ji approached the kwaechugwan fortress. 'You're highly welcomed, high priestess' lord kim min-soo showcased his courtesy while he led her to cho-wonhwa's room to see her. the high priestess used her divine enchantments to scan her body and discovered that she was poisoned with magic. ' she was poisoned with magic, dark magic, I can sense the residues of corrupt qi in her bloodstream' the high priestess spoke. the high priestess then magically released a pearl from her mouth and filled it with divine energy, then she inserted it into cho-wonhwa's body as a divine pishouge that will gradually decimate the residues of corrupt qi in her bloodstream. lady gwan-ji had a discussion with Lord kim min-soo after the exercise. ' During the cleansing exercise I performed, I could sense immense energy from the body,' the high priestess spoke. ' What do you mean????' Lord kim min-soo questioned curiously. 'The soul contained in that small mortal body is too powerful, and I wonder how such a small body can house such an immense soul,' the high priestess spoke. 'So what do you suggest ????' lord kim min-soo asked. ' For a person's body to hold such an immense soul, it's either they have a hidden or untapped power inside of them or they are living off another soul that is very powerful which happens without the knowledge of the host', you need to know more about her' the high priestess concluded.
