The Power OF a Hero

The Power OF a Hero

A choice of Green

Chapter 1: The Weight of Shadows

Rox (Narration): “People say heroes have happy beginnings. That we're somehow chosen by fate to make things right. But my story… it didn’t start with light. It started with darkness, a darkness I’ve carried for as long as I can remember.”

I was five when I discovered the power. Back then, it was raw, uncontrollable, just flashes of green energy that I couldn’t understand. And I paid for it. I lost everything that night—my family, my home. It was my fault. Or at least, that’s what I’ve always told myself.

For years, I ran. From the power, from myself. Then I met people like me, other kids with abilities just as strange as mine. They called themselves heroes. But the truth? We’re all just trying to make up for the things we couldn’t protect. For the families we couldn’t save.

Present Day: Downtown New Horizon

Rox walks down the crowded city streets, the familiar hum of New Horizon buzzing around him. As he passes by a group of classmates, he notices people giving him odd looks, as though they sense something different about him. But he doesn’t care. He’s on his way to meet his team.

He pushes open the door of an old, abandoned warehouse—a place they’ve transformed into their base. Astro, Mika, Nile, Tinko, Franklin, Zane, Isa, Fiona, and Phantom are already there, waiting. They’re more than a team. They’re family.

---

Rox: (entering, giving a small nod to everyone) So, Shimuka’s back. I got a feeling we’re not done with him yet.

Astro: (grinning) Thought you’d never show, Rox. You’re our frontman, after all. (pauses) And we’re gonna need every ounce of that Big Bang Wielder power you’ve got.

Mika: (serious, her moonlit energy casting a faint glow) Shimuka’s gathering more power than ever. If he succeeds, he’ll wipe out everyone who can’t fight back. We can’t let that happen.

There’s a heaviness in the air. Each of them has seen what Shimuka’s capable of, and they know this fight might be their last.

Franklin: (stretching, his body crackling as he regenerates a scar) Let him come at us. I’ll take whatever he throws. It’s gonna take a lot more than that to stop us.

Isa: (with a focused look) I can sense it. Every step he takes, every shift in the shadows. It’s all leading up to something… something big.

Rox clenches his fists, green energy pulsing through his veins. The weight of his past, of the power he barely controls, bears down on him. But he doesn’t hesitate.

Rox: (quietly, almost to himself) I won’t let him take anyone else.

The team exchanges looks, each one feeling Rox’s intensity. For some of them, like Franklin and Astro, it’s a familiar determination. For others, like Isa and Mika, it’s a reminder of why they fight. But for Rox, it’s a vow.

Flashback to Rox’s Childhood

Scene shifts to Rox at age five, standing in the middle of a broken home. The walls are scorched, the floor cracked. His father kneels in front of him, holding him close, even as fear flickers in his eyes.

Rox’s Father: (voice trembling) Rox… You have a gift. A power that’ll change the world one day. But remember, power isn’t what makes you strong. It’s what you choose to do with it.

The room fades to black, and Rox is left alone, the sound of his father’s last words echoing in his mind. It’s a memory he can’t shake, one that fuels every fight.
