"Innocence & Obsession"

EPISODE 1

Arushi Sharma, a 19-year-old sweet and childish girl, feels like an outsider in her stepfamily. She lives with her mother, Kriti Sharma, her stepfather, Arjun Sharma, and her step-sister, Janvi. Janvi, who is 28, is constantly plotting to make Arushi look bad in front of their parents. Arushi dreams of becoming a model, but her family doesn’t take her seriously.

Arushi & Janvi:**

** Arushi***: *Sighs* I don’t get why you hate me so much\, Janvi.

*Janvi*: I don’t hate you. I wish you’d stop acting like a child all the time. It’s embarrassing.

*Arushi*: But I *like* being myself. Why should I change?

*Janvi*: Because no one is going to take you seriously if you keep acting like this. You're wasting your life on silly dreams.

*Arushi*: I’m not wasting anything. I have dreams\, and I’m going to chase them. *You* don’t get to stop me.

*Janvi*: *Smirks* We’ll see about that. Don’t expect everyone to cheer you on.

*Arushi*: I don’t need anyone’s approval except my own.

Arushi tries to remain positive despite Janvi’s constant negativity. Her mother, Kriti, doesn’t offer much support either. She seems more focused on maintaining peace than encouraging Arushi’s dreams. Arushi’s only support comes from her best friend, Ravi, who always believes in her.

Arushi & Ravi (Her Best Friend):**

** *Ravi***: You know Janvi’s just jealous\, right? She’ll never be happy with your success.

*Arushi*: I know, but it’s exhausting. Every time I try to make something of myself, she finds a way to knock me down.

*Ravi*: Don’t let her get to you. You’re better than all of them. You’ll show them. The world needs to see who you are.

*Arushi*: Thanks, Ravi. I’m just tired of always being the one who has to prove herself.

*Ravi*: You *are* proving yourself. Every day. Just keep going\, and don’t let anyone stand in your way.

Arushi*: *Smiles You always know how to make me feel better.

*Ravi*: Anytime! Keep your head up, Arushi. I’m with you all the way.

The Sharma family is invited to a gathering at the Malhotra household. Janvi’s fiancé, Akash Malhotra, is there. He’s 32, successful, and very serious. Arushi is initially a little nervous to meet him, but decides to be herself, even if he’s known for being cold and distant.

– Arushi & Akash (First Meeting):**

*Arushi*: *Smiling* Hi! I’m Arushi. Janvi’s little stepsister.

Akash*: *Nods curtly Nice to meet you.

*Arushi*: *Grins mischievously* You know\, you look like you’ve been working hard. Have you been all business and no play?

*Akash*: *Raises an eyebrow* I don’t need play. Work is enough for me.

***Arushi*: **Teasing Wow, how boring. You should loosen up! I bet you could use some fun in your life.

*Akash*: *Sighs* I doubt you know what “fun” is.

*Arushi*: You’d be surprised! I’m full of surprises. Maybe I could teach you how to have fun.

*Akash*: *Stares blankly* I don’t think that’s necessary.

*Arushi*: *Laughs* You’re no fun at all\, Uncle Akash!

*Akash*: *Clenches jaw* “Uncle”? Seriously? I’m not that old!

*Arushi*: Oh, come on, you look like you could be my uncle!
