Episode five ; The Gathering storm

Episode Five: The Gathering Storm

Far beyond the mortal world, beyond the reach of time, there lay a realm where light could not touch — the Hollow Court. It was a place where the forgotten gods and broken spirits drifted, feeding on old grudges and endless hunger.

Tonight, the Hollow Court stirred.

In the center of the gloom, a throne of black stone cracked open. From its depths emerged a figure cloaked in writhing shadows — Nyx, the goddess of Night, older than Olympus itself. Her eyes, twin voids, gleamed with malevolence.

She had felt Athena’s rebirth.

And she was not alone.

Around her, the fallen gathered. Eris, goddess of Discord, wearing a crown of twisted thorns, smiled wickedly. Phobos and Deimos, spirits of Terror and Dread, whispered to each other, their forms little more than mist and malice. Even Thanatos, the silent god of Death, stood watchful, his skeletal hand resting on the hilt of a scythe that gleamed like a frozen tear.

Nyx raised one hand, and the gathering fell silent.

"The flame has rekindled," she said, her voice a caress and a curse all at once. "Athena walks the earth anew. Stronger. Purer. A threat."

Eris laughed, a sound like glass shattering.

"Let her fight. Mortals are weak. They will drag her down into the mud with them."

Nyx’s gaze pierced her.

"No," she said. "Athena is not as she once was. She is dangerous. She remembers the old ways — when gods did not merely whisper in dreams, but shaped worlds with their hands."

Phobos hissed, his form flickering.

"She will inspire them. Give them courage. Hope."

Deimos snarled.

"Hope must die."

Nyx nodded.

"And we shall be the ones to kill it."

She turned, lifting her arms. The darkness swirled and coiled around her hands, forming a blade not made for mortals — a weapon designed to cut through divinity itself.

"Find her," Nyx commanded. "Bleed her hope dry. Break her spirit. And when she stands alone and betrayed, we shall strike."

The Hollow Court echoed with cruel laughter as the gathered horrors melted into the night, spreading across the mortal world like a sickness.

Meanwhile, far below in the mortal realm, Athena stood atop a battered skyscraper, the city lights flickering around her. She could feel the darkness gathering — an ancient, cold rage that whispered promises of pain.

She closed her eyes, the wind tugging at her golden armor.

"They come," she murmured. "But so will I."

Athena was no fool. She knew that she had won only the first skirmish. True war — the kind that tore worlds apart — was coming.

And in that war, it would not be strength alone that saved the world.

It would be wisdom.

The stars overhead dimmed, one by one, as the enemies of hope spread their wings.

The first battle had ended.

The real war had begun.

Next Time on Athena: Rise of the Eternal...

As shadows tighten their grip around the world, Athena must seek out an ancient ally — one who once stood beside Olympus, but who has long since fallen into darkness.

In the ruined catacombs beneath the earth, she will find him... but bargains made in the dark come at a terrible price.

Can wisdom survive betrayal?

Can light trust anything born from shadow?

And in the depths of the Hollow Court, a blade meant for gods is sharpened — and it bears Athena’s name.
