In a Maze

Just like that a day passed and the weekend was over . Even though the two thought about each other a lot , still they couldn't muster the courage to call another. It was Monday and Jungkook had to go to college. He got ready at 7:30 and went to pick up Jimin. They both reached the college at 8:30 . Jungkook and Jimin had their fair share of admirers at school, especially Jungkook, cause he is the captain of the football team. Girls and boys swoon over him whenever he gets to the ground for a match.

" Hey JKeyy" their friend Min yoongi also known as Suga called him.

" Where were you dude? , you missed the festival" Jungkook asked.

" I was a little busy , you know. I have been trying to compose a song to add to my album " Suga replied.

Suga and Jimin were Arts majors. Suga is really into music and composing.

"You're the best, dude! Anyway, I'm running late see ya at lunch," Jungkook said with a grin before heading off to class.

What he didn't notice was Suga and Jimin were not talking. Since both are art majors , they were like peas in a pod. But today Jimin wasn't talking to Suga or even looking at him.

" Hey " Suga looked at Jimin with guilty eyes. Jimin pretended to not hear him and started to walk towards the class.

"Jimin , can we talk please? " Suga pleaded.

Jimin didn't even look back.

" I'm sorry " Suga tried to hold the back of his shirt.

Suddenly Jimin turned and took the other's hand and pulled him to the electric room nearby . Nobody ever goes there . Jimin made sure no one saw them before entering the room.

When they got inside Jimin pushed him to the wall with his hand. " What the fuck do you want yoongi, you tryna play with me, huh?"

Jimin was so beyond angry .

" I am sorry Jim, I really didn't mean to do that. I am a fucking idiot "

Jimin was face to face with Suga.

" Don't dare to say sorry, you fucker. You made me feel like an idiot , asshole . I tried to reach you for a week and you didn't even take any of my calls . Now you are saying sorry?? Go to hell for all I care. " Jimin was furious.

Jimin and Yoongi first met at college. They both were art majors. They hit it off and have been friends since then .

Yoongi also became friends with Jungkook because of Jimin. Jimin always admired yoongi, he was so talented in music. When even yoongi's parents were against him making music, Jimin believed in him.

Jimin knew that Yoongi could do it and always supported him. After his single songs , yoongi was going to release his first album and he threw a small party at his apartment. Yoongi doesn't live with his parents , he has an apartment near college. There were only close friends, everyone left after the party, only Jungkook and Jimin remained. Jungkook got very drunk and passed out on the floor. Jimin and Yoongi only drank a little.

They were sitting on the couch and talking about all the things that happened in college, laughing. Yoongi thanked Jimin for being there for him, when nobody did and hugged him. The hug went on for a minute and Jimin leaned onto him . He put his face on Yoongi's shoulder accidentally pressing his lips on his shoulder. Yoongi felt the lips and his grip on Jimin's back tightened. Yoongi didn't know why he did that, but Jimin felt something in his stomach. He turned his head a little to the side. His breath was falling on Yoongi's ears. His nose touching the ears , Yoongi pulled back a little and now was facing Jimin, their lips almost brushing each other, when Yoongi was about to close that gap...

" Yaaah Jiminahh where the hell are you? " Jungkook was in his drunken state trying to get up . Yoongi and Jimin jumped from their position awkwardly. But Jungkook didn't see them . " Jiminah let's go home " Jimin didn't know what to do and said to Yoongi that he will see him tomorrow at college and left with Jungkook. It was soo awkward. Jimin was happy when he reached home. He kind of had a crush on Yoongi. Yoongi was so cool and exactly Jimin's type. But Yoongi only dated girls , so he thought to never act up on the crush. But today's event gave him hope that maybe something could happen between them.

The next day Yoongi acted like nothing happened and Jimin thought he was just stupid to think that was something or maybe he forgot about that, Jimin convinced himself. But Yoongi didn't forget or anything, he was just so damn confused about the whole thing. He only dated girls, not that he hated gay couples or anything, he didn't think that he could be into boys. Recalling their friendship, now that he thinks about it , he feels like maybe Jimin might have had a crush on him. What happened that night was just in the heat of the moment, Yoongi assured himself. He should talk to Jimin about this and remain as friends. They didn't talk about this in class .

After a week at a party in one of their friend's house, Jungkook was not with Jimin , because he had some work at home. Jimin just said hi and tried to avoid Yoongi as much as possible. It was almost midnight and the party was still going on. Most of them were making out or passed out. Yoongi didn't drink cause he had to drive back . He was about to go home, walking towards the car and heard a giggle .

He saw Jimin sitting with a girl on a bench and was clearly drunk . The girl was flirting with him and trying to touch his face to kiss him . Jimin was drunk but still he pushed the girl a little. But the girl was not backing off and put her hand on his neck to pull him into a kiss. Just before her lips could reach him , Yoongi pulled Jimin away from her hold and picked him up into his arms.

Jimin blushed seeing Yoongi and hid his face in his chest. He brought Jimin to the car ,put him in the passenger seat and drove to a nearby store. Jimin washed his face and Yoongi bought him a drink to sober up. After sometime Jimin was kind of sober .

" Are you an idiot " Yoongi asked Jimin with a done face. " Huh? " Jimin had no clue .

" If you can't hold your ass after a few drinks , then don't get drunk at a party " yoongi was clearly angry.

" You are one to talk . You can't remember shit after drinking and now you are tell me not to drink " Jimin was not holding back either. That was the line that made him lose it. Yoongi pulled Jimin into the car's backseat.

" Who said I forgot anything? " Yoongi said and pressed his lips against Jimin's. He put his hand on Jimin's waist and pulled him closer . The kiss was so rough and Yoongi was eating Jimin's lips like he was starved. Jimin was first surprised by the kiss , but the next second he gave into the kiss . He put his arms around Yoongi's neck savouring his lips. Yoongi pushed his tongue inside Jimin's lips devouring him . He pulled Jimin onto his lap without breaking the kiss. He put his hands inside Jimin's shirt and Jimin jolted with the sudden touch leaving a small moan.

That brought Yoongi back into reality, realising that he just kissed Jimin, Yoongi was stupified. He slipped out of Jimin's hold, opened the car and got into the driver seat , Jimin was still in the back seat , and drove to Jimin's home. He opened the door and let him out. Jimin was too stunned to speak. Yoongi just said " Sorry, I will talk to you later" and left. Jimin stood there like an idiot who got abandoned just because of a kiss. He felt like crying and the alcohol he had earlier was not helping either. He cried a lot that night.

After that day , Yoongi didn't went to college for a week. He didn't even attend the call when Jimin called. Yoongi messed up big time.

And now

Yoongi was pinned against the wall by Jimin.

" Jiminah I messed up okay, I am an idiot, I am a stupid idiot . I am sorry , that was all new for me. I have never kissed a man in my life and it was confusing for me , but it doesn't justify my actions. Please forgive me. This whole week I was too ashamed to face you. That's why I never took your calls . I am so sorry Jiminah, I didn't know what I was feeling towards you. But when you are not with me all I can think about is you. I want nothing more than to be close to you and hold you. You were with me when no one believed in me. And I want to be with you only if you will allow me " a tear slipped from his eyes down to his chin.

Jimin shushed him by putting his finger on Yoongi's lips. Jimin was so furious seeing him today, but hearing this words from him , he was not angry at him anymore. But didn't forgive him either.

" I can't pretend that this was not the most beautiful confession I have ever heard in my life. But I won't forgive you... Yet. I am still mad at you. Take this chance and try to win me over. Then I will think about it "

Jimin said with a shy smile. He didn't dare to look at Yoongi's eyes. If he did he definitely wouldn't be able to resist and will kiss that lips. They were so close in that position. Jimin quickly turned to leave the room, but his hands was caught by Yoongi's hand and his other hand cupped Jimin's face . Yoongi suddenly pecked on his lips and left the room . Jimin was so flustered and his cheeks turned pink.

He didn't just do that. So cocky of him to think that I am gonna forgive him so easily.

At lunch Jimin joined Jungkook in the cafeteria. They bought chicken sandwiches and mint lime juice. Jungkook didn't forget to bring Tae's phone with him in case he called. He knew that he also told Taehyung that he would call him later but didn't know if it was a good idea.

What if he is waiting for my call? . He won't right?

Maybe he doesn't even plan to take this phone back and will never call. He already has another phone . Then why would he want this back.

" Yaah Jungkookah, you are spaced out again." Jimin told him

" Oops sorry" Jungkook blinked his eyes and tried to focus on eating .

" Where is Yoongi? Isn't he eating lunch? Jungkook asked.

" How would I know where he is . He is probably busy with music. " Jimin said with an annoyed face.

" Or he might be with Mia . She said she is going to tell that she like him. They are probably eating each other's face right now" . Mia is one of the most popular girls in their college. Hearing this Jimin didn't know what to do. His chest hurted a bit. He stood up from the chair . " Where you going , dude? " Jungkook asked . "I am gonna go to the washroom. Kook I will call you after college. " Jimin replied and hurriedly left.

Jungkook was left alone to be in his thoughts. He took Taehyung's phone from the pocket to look at his pictures. This was becoming a habit of him. Jungkook wanted to call him so bad.

Should I just risk it all and go for it. What if he doesn't even remember this whole thing? It's gonna be soo embarassing. Whatever, I want to call him or should I just leave a text. Yess texting is a good idea.

He thought and started to type on the message app.

Jk : Hey 👋🏻 (✓✓)

Tae: Hi

Jk ( He was using his phone . I didn't expect him to reply so fast. )

Jk: Hey , I don't know why I texted you. I was kinda bored at clg

Tae : oh , how's college. Did you had lunch?

Jk: Yeah , I am in the cafeteria. Ate a sandwich. Did you eat?

Tae : Just ate . So how's college? Fun?

Jk: It's fun 🙃.

Tae : What major are you?

Jk : Economics and foreign trade. And you?

Tae : I've got a degree in Business

Jk : Cool.

Jk( dammnn this is awkward as hell. What am I going to say to him? I should have at least prepared something to ask )

Jk: Taehyung, Where do you live ?

Tae: Daegu

Jk : Were you here for the festival?

Tae: Yeah , it was so much fun . It was my first time in Busan.

Jk : You have never been here?? Were you in the States or something?

Tae : Something like that .

Jk : Do you have insta?

Tae : No , I don't use social media.

Jk : Ohh okay.

Tae : Jungkookah I will call you. I have got something to do. Bye

Jk : okie bye

Why is he always busy or does he just don't have anything to talk ? Is it because I asked about social media? It probably is. What is with him and this mystery behaviour?

Why can't I just tell him stuff? Oh this fuckng hell . Should I just run away from this hell of a home. Ahhhhh shittt .

Taehyung was losing his mind . He was fine with all this shit, well not exactly fine but still he didn't care enough about his life or the things that he was experiencing . But now he is feeling the need to be in control of his life . His thoughts got interrupted by a sudden knock on the door. He opened the door to see his mother standing there.

"Son, were u sleeping?" Seo yeon asked .

"No mom , just reading stuff" Taehyung lazily replied, a bit worried cause of his chat with Jungkook.

"Tae , you know the Regal Banquet is close right? . We can't afford to make a single mistake cause of those fckers who are trying to drag your dad down anytime they get a chance. And also this time you need to help the team arrange the event"

" I will do my best mom " Taehyung said even though he doesn't give a damn thing about this Banquet.

Every year the Kim family holds a Banquet in which their rival conglomerates , other family members, a lot of important figures from politics attends. The event starts from evening to late at night. The event is very fancy and famous among the conglomerates. The Kim family has always made sure to conduct the best banquets .

And Taehyung's mom always makes sure of that. In the business world everything is about elegance, class and flaunting money . Kim Seo yeon appointed the best event planners for this event too. Still she wanted Taehyung to be involved. She knows that her son is lonely as she couldn't give him any love or caring. Maybe doing something and getting involved is a good start for him cause one day he has to inherit their business.

" And what do u think about a Masquerade theme this time?"

" It's a good idea and we have never done it before so , I think it's okay" Taehyung said

" Then son, I will tell the event planners, make sure u get acquainted with them okay, they will be here tomorrow"

Taehyung agreed to his mom and she left the room leaving Taehyung to delve into his thoughts again .

Taehyung genuinely hates the damn Banquet. All those people who are the reason for his miserable life attends and he hates seeing them . Their leering eyes on him. Some women and even men tries to approach him in these events. He always avoid it as much as possible. Sometimes his mom comes to his rescue, as she knows very well of their intentions .

After college Jungkook went home with Jimin. The rest of the day was uneventful . And just like that a week had passed. He couldn't find the courage to text Taehyung. Taehyung also didn't text, since he was busy with the event planners and organizing.

Jungkook felt this constant irritating feeling all week long and he knows the reason why. It's because of a very mysterious someone who was clearly not texting him. Was he angry? Maybe a little. Or he is just sad that Taehyung seems uninterested in him. He even called him Hyung . Now that he think about it he feels like an idiot. Like what was he expecting, he don't even know anything about Taehyung.

He shrugged off the thoughts and got ready for college. Jimin came to pick him up .

" Hey, how is it going with that Kim dude? " Jimin ofcourse teased him

"He is not texting me and I am anxious, should I just drop all this jim? all I can think about is him . I don't know why he is in my mind all the time" Jungkook was frustrated.

" I think you should wait for one more day . If he doesn't contact you , then you should drop it . But it's your call bro, I am just saying this" Jimin said.

" Ok, ok I will wait for one more day then " Jungkook agreed

They reached college and on his way to class , lexi , Jungkook's classmate was waiting for him at the door.

" Jungkook , I need to talk to you " she said , blocking the door with her hand .

"What ? Tell me and move " Jungkook was irritated as he knows well what she has to say. Lexi has this huge crush on him and she is trying to make him fall for her. Jungkook has already told her a hundred times that he is not interested and she is just wasting her time. But she just doesn't get it.

"Not here , let's go somewhere we can sit " she tried to drag Jungkook with her .

He took her hand off him and walked with her to the canteen and sat on a table.

Lexi put her hand on top of Jungkook's and looked into his eyes

" Jungkook, i thought about this a million times and I don't know how to say this, but i really like you , and please give us a chance. We can make it work"

" Lex , please don't say this again, I have told you a lot of times before to not waste ur time, find someone who likes you. I value our friendship, so please don't make this more awkward. And I think I know now why I can't say yes to you . I guess I am gay af. " Jungkook pulled his hand away from her.

" Don't play with me Jungkook. I know about ur ex girlfriend zoey" lexi said angrily

" I swear I am not pranking you. I always had my doubts, even when I was with zoey, i was not that into her . We just dated because she approached me and we broke up cause I never was serious in that relation. So I am sorry lex . Please find someone who is good to you okay, let's go back to class " Jungkook said and went to his class.

After class Jungkook went to the campus grounds for practice. Then after taking a quick shower he went to Jimin, who was waiting for him in the parking lot.

The drive back home was silent except Jimin asking about Taehyung

"Did he call ? "

"No" a quick reply

"Are you gonna call or text ? "

"No , i guess"

"Okay" He didn't think to bother the sad Jungkook, trusting that kook will figure it out himself .

Reaching home Jungkook was feeling so under the weather. He drank some coffee and went to his room.

Suddenly

Taehyung's phone rang and he ran to take the phone from his bag and attended the call .

"Hello"

The deep honey voice was heard from the other side . And just like that the heavy feeling the younger had in his chest was gone in an instant

"Hyung "

"Hey, I was busy this week . So I wasn't able to call you "

A lie. Even though he was a bit busy with the preparations, he still had a lot of time to call him. But he didn't. He was distraught . Why should he involve someone to his hell of a life ? Or should he just do what he wants to do? After a lot of turmoil he decided to call him.

"It's alright hyung. What about this phone . Will u be able to pick it up? "

"No , for the time being I can't "

As much as Jungkook wants to see him, not everything always works as we want.

"Okay , so bye then" the younger was going to cut the call .

"Wait, are u free now? " Taehyung wanted to talk to him more.

"Yeah, I am "

"Okay , let's talk then , so how was college? "

" It was good , the same old , so hyung what u been up to? "

Taehyung hesitated for a moment, thinking whether or not to talk about his life.

" So Jungkookah , I have been in the planning of an event that my family is going to host. That held me up all week. Still a lot of stuff left to do. I can't make any mistakes. "

"Great, good job hyung , you know what, I am sure you are gonna nail it hyung..."

Unaware of the impact of his words, the younger one kept babbling , each sentence deepening the blush on the cheeks of a lone boy tucked away in a grand mansion.

Even though Taehyung didn't reveal any secrets about his life ,they talked about their day , hobbies and so on.

Taehyung told the younger about his yeontan and the younger mentioned his plans to adopt a dog.

As time passed both of them engaged in a conversation filled with laughter and joy , it was almost half an hour.

And hearing someone calling Taehyung , he ended the call abruptly leaving Jungkook a bit worried. But that didn't last much longer as a notification popped up .

When he opened it , he saw a text which made his heart jump out in joy and excitement .

" Do you fancy a night of masks , mystery and mischief at a Masquerade ball?"
