Perfectly Twisted
Episode 5: Cracks in the Glass
Amit couldn’t stop thinking about the word she’d said.
“Good.”
So calm. So deliberate. So unapologetic.
That one word had changed everything for him. Ruby wasn’t trying to be a mystery anymore — she was inviting him into it. And he? He was far too intrigued to walk away.
Back in his penthouse, Amit poured himself a drink. The city lights flickered beyond the massive windows, but his mind was wrapped around something else — her face, her voice, the danger pulsing behind her every glance.
Who are you really, Ruby Malhotra?
And more importantly — why did he like not knowing?
The next morning, Ruby stood in front of her mirror, brushing her long hair slowly. She looked into her own eyes — dark, deep, unreadable. People thought mirrors showed the truth. But hers? Hers had learned to lie years ago.
She smiled at her reflection — not a sweet one. A knowing one.
He saw through her now. Maybe not fully, but enough to stop underestimating her. That made the game far more interesting.
She stepped into her office, already dressed in sleek black from head to toe — the color of control, of clarity. She had a plan.
“Bring me the final draft for the collaboration proposal with Amit Mehra’s company,” she said to her assistant.
Was it too fast? Yes.
Too obvious? Perhaps.
But she wanted him to know she wasn’t waiting around.
This wasn’t flirtation. This was strategy. The kind that left bruises.
Later that evening, Amit received the proposal.
It was brilliant — perfectly structured, precise, powerful. Just like her.
But it was the personal handwritten note she attached that made his pulse shift.
“Let’s not waste time, Mr. Mehra. Some things are meant to begin quickly — and burn slowly.”
Burn slowly?
He leaned back in his chair, reading that line over and over. She wasn’t just crossing the line. She was drawing it, then stepping over with a smile.
And he wasn’t stopping her.
In fact, he was starting to match her.
That night, Ruby returned home and opened her private room — the one no one entered. Walls covered in clippings, digital profiles, hidden camera screenshots. It wasn’t just business connections she collected.
She studied people. Obsessively. Secretly.
Amit’s face was now pinned in the very center.
His expressions. His body language. Notes about the way his eyes lingered when he was curious, how his jaw tightened when he was annoyed. The subtle patterns of his confidence.
Her fingers traced the edge of one photo.
“He thinks he’s watching me,” she whispered. “But he has no idea.”
Her obsession was no longer a secret — not in this room. Not in her mind.
And now that he was responding? Now that he was starting to see her, really see her — it was more addictive than she’d imagined.
But what Ruby didn’t know was that Amit had secrets of his own. Darker ones. Quieter ones.
He wasn’t scared of her intensity. He was familiar with it.
And if Ruby thought she was the only one capable of obsession...
She was wrong.
