Chapter 3 : Recalling The Memories

~ After Elena reached her house first, she placed Niva in her crib she walked to the kitchen and started preparing for dinner as Ethan's friends were coming for dinner. Elena also been friends with them since I school. Safe to say, Ethan and Elena's high school friends are coming for dinner.

Elena prepared everything for the cooking and started to cook.. As she decided the menu

stirred fired vegetables, steak, white sauce pasta, mac and cheese chocolate chips, brownies with ice cream for dessert

She chopped the veggies.. wash the steak. Gathered all the ingredients needed to make white sauce pasta mac and cheese and chocolate chips brownies

She efficiently walks around the kitchen, cooking occasionally, checking on Niva..in between changing her diapers to feed her as well..

while cooking and doing other chores here and there, Elena remembers that stranger momentarily over and over again.

As the clock struck at 7 pm, Elena finished cooking, set the table, cleaned the house, and wore presentable clothes.. Before Ethan had come with friends.

As time passed, Elena got engrossed in cooking and preparing things beforeeveryonearrives. From her mind, that man and incident slipped at least for now.

Elena wears a white floral dress, did her hair, and makeup keep it natural.. she saw herself in a mirror as she heard the doorbell rang.

She quickly walked to the door and opened the door..

On the doorstep, it revealed 4 of their high school friends, Naomi..Bela.. Joseph.. Conrad.. with Ethan

Elena knew them since high school, though, but they were mainly Ethan's friends, and she used to hang out with them due to Ethan..

Elena has her own two comfort friends, best friends, more likely sisters, Sammy, and Sunflower. The closest friends of her and who are silent support in her rough life.

Elena welcomed the Naomi, Bela, Joseph, Conrad..

"Hey guys, long time no, she how are you all".. she greets them

Conrad replied first."Adulthood is Sucks..it was way better than in high school.. Anyways, things are good lately.. What about you.two then?".. He chuckled

As Joseph chimed in, "we all are good, how about you love birds, married, and have a daughter.. just seems perfect, " He teased

Ethan joined. "Yeah, buddy, a life I and Elena planned for years," smiling as if nothing changed between them

Elena also plastered a smile on her face on Ethan's reply..

But I couldn't help but think in herself

"Is it the life we planned for..I planned for"

Bela speaks up "Elena where is your daughter?"

She said with excitement to see their child

Elena brings Niva to them in her arm

Everyone awe with Little Niva's innocence

Naomi asked, "How old is she?"

Elena replied, "5 months."

Bela said "Awe, she is so tiny so cute like a fairy."

Elena smile

After playing with Niva for a few moments, they all sat together for dinner on the dinner table. Ethan took his seat beside Elena..

They all are reminiscing their old memories during high school.. and felt nostalgic how times flew by..

As they were eating, Joseph suddenly spoke up while eating the pasta..

"Just remembered how Elena likes white sauce pasta, and once Elena was craving for it in our bonfire and this Romeo Ethan anyhow brings it for her.." he commented while remembering

As the memory struck the chord, Elena again felt a pang in her heart but hid it and chuckled along

"I can do anything for my girl," Ethan commented while placing his hand on her.

The words string in her heart, and she thinks

"He really mean it? Then his behaviour now?

She asked herself in her mind but kept the facade of going along

Naomi commented, "Lucky you girl to get a guy like him." She nudged Elena..

Elena smiled and replied "Y..yeah definitely"

Little shuttering tone.

As they continue to chat and remember old stuff after a few times, they finish the dinner, and after dinner, they bid farewell and all left..

After they left, Ethan directly went to their bedroom, not even offering a hand to clean up.

But this ghathering messed with Elena's mind about her marriage with Ethan in present and the past relationship they had during high school

After finishing washing dishes and chores, And tucking Niva in her crib..she walked into the bedroom she found Ethan scrolling through his phone she changed in a night gown and sat on the edge of the bed beside him..

It's long since Elena got pregnant, and after Niva's birth, they didn't have that much intimacy, neither physically nor emotionally.. Insteadthe pregnancy created longing between and unaddressed desires

Elena initiated some act of intimacy and placed her hand on his thigh to grab his attention and look at him with hope. Desire and affection, she rubbed her hand..lean forward and start to kiss his neck

"Elena, stop. I am tired, not tonight," Ethan said while holding her hand.

Elena felt disappointed

"Ethan, it's long we have any intimacy between us," She explained.

"Elena, I am tired now some other time please..i need to rest and i need sleep," he said, put his phone down and lay on the bed, pulling the covers..

Elena sat on the edge of the bed watching Ethan's back under covers.. mulling over his words from earlier in reply to his friends.

Elena remembered what he said in front of them..

"Yeah, buddy, a life I and Elena planned for years," smiling as if nothing changed between them. "I can do anything for my girl."

Elena thinks in her mind whiles but she is looking at Ethan's back

"Did he really mean these things.."

Elena walks to the other side of the bed and lies down, glancing once on Ethan's sleeping face..

As she kept thinking of their past, how he brings flowers, chocolates gifts if not anything, quilty time, how he used to hold her hand tuck strands behind her ear softly.. and thinks of the present situation of their marriage.. the distance..

And she once again glanced to Ethan's sleeping face..~
