MY LIFE EPISODE 5

MY LIFE – Episode 5

Ahroi’s Perspective

I’ve attended business meetings before — formal settings, courteous exchanges, organized agendas.

But today felt unique.

Not due to the location.

Not even because it was Rajvanshi Headquarters — although, yes, the place resembled something from a high-end lifestyle magazine.

It was because of him.

The Meeting That Wasn’t Just a Meeting

He welcomed me with the same resonant voice I recalled from our first encounter.

But this time, his tone was... gentler. Less formal. As if he was interested in more than just the notes I made.

We conversed for almost an hour.

He inquired about my views on marketing, brand integrity, and, unexpectedly, acting.

“You have a theatre background, right?” he asked, casually.

I stared in disbelief. “Yes, but... how did you find out?”

He flashed a small, somewhat bashful smile. “Thorough research is essential in business.”

There was a moment of silence.

Not uncomfortable — just contemplative.

That’s when I realized.

This wasn’t merely about business.

Back at Home

I didn’t share much with Papa about the meeting.

Just that it went well and that the Rajvanshi team appeared receptive to future partnerships.

But internally?

I was still going over the moment he stood to escort me to the elevator.

The way he hesitated before bidding farewell, as if he wanted to express something more but opted against it.

Later That Night

I sat on my bed, browsing through old performance clips on my phone.

One of the videos featured a scene I had performed during my final year at drama school — a romantic soliloquy.

“You don’t always recognize love when it arrives. Sometimes, it appears quietly, with corporate documents and courteous smiles...”

I chuckled at the coincidence.

No, this couldn’t be that.

It was merely admiration. Respect. A touch of professional interest.

That’s all... right?

Buzz.

A notification appeared on my screen.

Unknown Number:

I hope you got home safely. Today’s discussion was the most rejuvenating one I’ve had in months. Anticipating more like it — professionally, of course. :)

– Aryansh

My fingers hovered over the screen.

I typed, then deleted.

Typed once more.

And finally sent:

Thank you. I enjoyed it as well. Business doesn’t always need to be dull, I suppose.

Aryansh’s POV

Her message was simple.

“Thank you. I enjoyed it too. Business doesn’t always have to be boring, I guess.”

That one line?

I read it five times.

Not because I was overthinking.

Okay—maybe I was.

But it wasn’t just a text. It was… her tone. Light. Warm. Just enough to keep the door open.

The Next Day

I tried to get back to work.

Emails. Contracts. Vendor meetings. Even a board call.

But somewhere in the middle of my calendar, I found myself checking my phone. Re-reading that same message, like it held some secret code I hadn’t cracked yet.

Amit walked into my cabin with a knowing look.

“Want me to book you two a business lunch next week or should I start printing wedding invites?”

I ignored him.

Then again… maybe lunch wasn’t such a bad idea.

12:32 PM – The Next Message

Aryansh:

I have a meeting near your side of town tomorrow. If you're free, maybe you’d like to grab coffee after? Strictly business. Unless you want to talk theatre too. :)

I hit send before I could overthink it.

And then waited.

And waited........................................................................................................................
