The ambiance of the night. Peace and Tranquility endlessly swarming all over the forest they have stopped to. And the sound of the insects being produced everywhere within the dark forest.
The open area which was spacious enough to surround the group of college students, was a very safe place that no one could ever find whereabouts, as it is away from any neighboring humanity.
This region of the forest was certainly more than miles away from any person to spot so yet.
What has the group did to discover such grounds of peace?
The answer: Google Maps ✓
The first thing the group did after dropping off their luggages was placing solar lights all over the open ground, providing luminescence across the space for them to have vision.
The second thing was that they set up three massive tents that are to be divided into three mini stations, such as: storage for the luggages, sleeping area, and one extra for another cause (just incase).
The third and last thing they did was to wander everywhere in search for any twigs or wood for the campfire to be made. It was certainly an essential for campings if you ask a camper (or me, I guess).
"Any luck finding twigs or anything we can burn, Adri?" Greg asks. He was holding a load of twigs he found deep in the forest with what little light he had with him.
"Ask the fairies who watched me did, if you find any." Adrian said with a smirk. He was also holding a load of twigs, showing off those biceps as he wore a sleeveless shirt after they got out earlier.
They stared at each other, challenging each which were visible in their eyes. They laid down the twigs with a fair amount of spaces in between each.
"Now let's see who got more." Adrian declared. "Was gonna say that, pretty boy." Greg spat with fire burning within his desperation.
"Gosh, those idiots." Joana said, talking about Adrian and Greg counting their twigs to see who got more from a distance.
"Boys will be boys, Joana." Rexie added with a pokerface at her, holding her phone and seemingly typing something. She was sitting at a log which Adrian pulled from somewhere. "I didn't ask your opinion, Rex." She barked at her with a side eye.
Molly then pulls Joana away to do something far more productive than the usual Rexie versus Joana banter.
On another side of the forest, Kristofer was holding a flashlight, aiming the light at the other two - Cecily and Trevor.
They were also collecting twigs, but in a more peaceful and non-tiring pace. Probably cause Trevor wasn't in any mood since Adrian and him fought earlier.
"You know, Trevor..." Kristofer trails off, he was already becoming shy before he could even finish any sentence.
"What, gay??" He spat. "Respectfully speaking here, Trevor." Cecily replied with soft tone and pout. "Gross." Trevor spat as he glanced at her face.
"Wait, you're..." Trevor was undoubtedly irritated and disgusted. "We listen and we don't judge." Cecily said which made him more irritated.
"That's absolutely gross." He shivered from that. "You two are always annoying." He added with a now mildly angry expression.
"Not all are gross, Trevor." Kristofer finally spoke with a stern expression now. "You just have to open your eyes to have a bigger vision, more than your brain could ever think of." This shocked Trevor. He never saw Kristofer get defensive, let alone, talk like that.
"Exactly." Cecily added, even though she didn't understand a single thing Kristofer said.
"Y'all stop corrupting my head." He backed away, carrying the twigs he picked up. "I'm going back." He said as he turned his back away from them.
"You should talk to him." Cecily adviced Trevor with a sincere tone. She was really worried that this - friendship breaking apart - might continue forever.
Kristofer encouraged what Cecily said with a nod, fixing his slipping glasses after.
"I don't need your advices." Trevor spat, annoyed. "You can't even be straight, let alone a straight advice." Cecily and Kristofer were speechless.
Trevor left them behind as he carried the twigs back to the camp. He didn't even bother to look back.
"Damn..." Cecily muttered with surprise. Trevor had never said anything like that. Although it's not that logical or reasonable, (is what she thinks.) they were bound with the fact that Trevor was just a smartass and not anything intelligent.
"Oh crap, I really said it." Kristofer was surprised as he covered his mouth with a hand. He was proud of himself for the very first time.
"Didn't know you had it in you." Cecily complimented him with a pat on his shoulder.
The two freakin' airheads encouraging each other deep in the forest with only a pair of flashlights in their hands.
*Screams*
"AHHH!!"
A scream rebounded in the open area. This had everyone alerted. They swear they heard Rexie's voice.
They - Adrian, Greg, Molly and Joana - rushed to where it came from as the scream was heard again.
[Tension Building Up]
*Step, Step*
There they saw Rexie...
Standing on a rock with a horrified face. It looked like she was going crazy.
"What's wrong?!" Adrian asked with an utmost concern and confusion. Everyone quiets down to hear what she has to say.
*Panting*
"There's no reception..." Rexie answered as she turn to them, eyes wide. "Oh for fuck's sake..." Adrian facepalms along with Greg scoffing with relief.
"Damn, that crazy bitch." Joana muttered with Molly on her side. She unintentionally held Molly up-close to her without even realizing it. They looked like she was being protective.
"Oh sorry." Joana only realized when she looked at Molly beside her. "No worries." Molly replied with no any signs of discomfort, only surprise.
"We are in a middle of a remote forest, Rex." Adrian explained with irritation. "It can't be..." Rexie was visibly panicking as she keeps on checking her phone repeatedly.
She turned to them with a furious expression. "Who thought of this ridiculous idea???!" She said furiously.
Adrian glanced at Greg who bit his lips, holding "guilt". Joana scoffed with a half smirk. Molly was being quiet.
"Don't blame me," Greg deems, defensive. "I just wanted us to be focusing on the camping. Not distracted by internet.
"You little..." Rexie was closing in the distance between her and Greg, about to bite his head off. "Woah, woah, woah," Adrian stopped her.
"He's kind of reasonable, Rex." He says, suppressing his laugh. "How the fuck is that reasonable??" She barks back, furiously.
"What about my followers??" She added, annoyed. "That can wait, Rex." Adrian replied, now semi-serious. While Joana and Molly were just watching a drama unfold infront of them.
"Ugh," she rolled her eyes in irritation. "Besides, pictures don't need internet." Greg said, scratching the back of his head. "Don't you tell me what to do, dipshit." She scowled at him with a glare, holding her phone.
She then walks away from them, returning to the camp where the tents are. Probably gonna find something like a power bank.
"Well she won't survive..." Joana said with a snicker only Molly heard. "I kinda feel sorry for her." Molly said genuinely.
"Don't be, she's way off better on her own." Joana told Molly with such honesty from what she thinks is the best. "At least for now..." she adds.
As the night lasts longer, Trevor had been placing the twigs vertically in a round form, seemingly like that of a circus tent. He's been making a large campfire. Placing pebbles around the twigs. It was really something innovative, but surprising since it's Trevor.
Trevor's expression was not mad, but a pokerface. He's been serious since earlier. "Like heck I'd die if I don't talk to him." He consoled his self, trying to reason out.
He continues setting up the campfire. "I don't even know what I am anymore." He mutters to himself. A vivid picture of Adrian laughing crossed his head. *Snap* "Fuck you, Motherfucker!" He threw a twig onto the ground roughly, making it snap a little.
He was breathing heavily, like trying to calm himself down. "Adrian..." he muttered with a raspy tone. "Uhh- what's this talk about Adrian??" A voice came from behind him. He flinched and quickly turned to see who it was. It was the one and only Redhead, Rexie.
Rexie looked like she's weirded out. She had an eye seemingly twitching, along with her mouth agape. She was staring at Trevor who's been staring and dumbstruck, holding her phone on her hand.
"Ain't yo fuckin' business." He said, defensively. "Ho? That's gross. Can't believe it." She said with a smug on her face. She couldn't believe what she's thinking about Trevor.
"Bitch, Don't jump into conclusions." Trevor said, starting to get mad. "No, no, not Adrian, you hoax." She said with a disgusted expression. "Go find another, Fraud." She scowled at him with an ick.
"I AM NOT-", "Shut the fuck up, Trev." She cut him off before he could even finish his sentence. "All those- *Scoff* all those exes... you- you fake!" She scowled, looking at him up and down. She couldn't believe it.
"Fuck you, I'm tired of you." He said angrily. "Gosh," was all she said, before entering one of the tent, the storage one.
"Fuckin' shit." He said, rubbing his temples. *Sigh*
Cecily and Kristofer were walking back to the camp, slowly. They were conversing about a certain topic. It was about something inter-logical-biological-social-economical whatever Kristofer is explaining to her. (Girl is probably suffering from listening).
Kristofer was slowly losing his shy interior. He's growing up. Maybe next time, no shy nerd anymore?... maybe?
"You know..." Kristofer sighed, contemplating. "Hmm?" Cecily hummed. "What?" She quickly added, seeing Kristofer with a somewhat thinking face.
"Trevor." He said, having visible confusion and also suspicion about something that was clearly or nearly impossible. "Yeah me too." Cecily replied, having a pout while they were walking.
Suddenly, they stopped on their tracks. "Wait..." Cecily said slowly, sounding like she's certain about something that didn't make sense. Then they exclaimed in unison. "He's--"
"Can't believe she went nuts over that." Joana said, chuckling as she walks along with Molly. "That's not nice you know..." Molly told her, shooting her a worrying expression. Despite Rexie being a nuisance and headache to her, she still didn't want for Rexie to go through a hard time.
They continued talking while walking. Molly thought they were on their way back to the camp, following Joana who's been blabbering and leading her.
Actually, Joana was just wandering off and around the forest, while Molly was thinking Joana knew the way back, so they're just probably lost or something.
"Hold..." Kristofer said with visible unsureness, rethinking about their claim. "If he is... why the exes??" He was confused. "Yeah, like tons of them." Cecily replied, agreeing to Kristofer's reasoning.
"But then, I kinda saw them back in the van..." He said, picturing in their minds what happened earlier.
(Picturing)
In mind: Adrian and Trevor some hours ago.
They were looking at each other in the van earlier. Both of them sharing a gaze interlocking with their eyes captured in every sense of attention. They were smiling at each other.
And slowly...
They close in the distance, and went for the kiss. It was a truly passionate and deep kiss, showing their desires for each other. Trevor was wrapping his arms around Adrian's neck, while Adrian had his arms around Trevor's waist.
"Mhmmm mmm fhmm..."
"Yeaah... not happening."
(Back to Reality)
"I don't even think that's ever gonna happen." Cecily replied, halfway deadpanning at the idea.
"A hundred percent.", "That was absurd.", "Yeah, let's just go back.", "Totally." They bantered, definitely trying to sound serious, and also unamused.
They just walked to the direction of the camp. Attempting on forgetting and leaving behind what they fantasized about Adrian and Trevor who are currently not on good terms.
*Tsssssss*
"Ah,"
[Crickets Chirping]
Adrian and Greg were taking a piss in the dark area near a tree, with a solar lamp behind them on the ground.
They were finishing up. "Y'know, I really had a grudge on you back in high school." Greg said, they were still doing business. "Oh yeah?" Adrian replied, still not done.
"The girl I liked... damn... she was head over heels for you." Greg continued his story. "Damn, sorry bro." Adrian laughed it off.
"But now, I wouldn't blame her, cause I'd really be crazy too." Greg stated, making Adrian and him look at each other, still... on their business.
"Dude..."
*Silence*
"That's gay." He added. "I'm just messing with ya!" Greg wheezed heartily with a laugh. They were finally done with their business, but...
"Though, lemme see..."
"It's not what you think."
They were bickering.
"Damn, Adri, that's King-sized."
"Wanna work on it?"
"No, fuck you."
They laughed it off heartily.
[Insert Gæ]
-Inside a police office-
"Chief, got any reports?" A police officer said. "None, we're off today, officers." The chief replied.
One was eating a donut. It was actually a peaceful day, because the office didn't have a single citizen inside, nor was anyone being cautious or worried about something at all.
The chief slides open a drawer cabinet. There, he saw some old article as he sips from his coffee.
"What's this?" He asks aloud to the officers, wanting an explanation. "That's the case about the missing sheriff." One replied with a serious tone. "This- really fucked and cold."
"Agreed, Chief." Another responded, nonchalantly. "That one was from about seven years." He said. "Damn... the man stated here was too young..." the chief said with concern.
"Though, it involved a series of missing people those years, now is just good it stopped."
