The first night they spent in the temple was both enchanting and exhausting for Aurora. While she was overflowing with the excitement of discovering her power, she also felt the weight of the responsibility that came with this new ability.
During their stay at the temple, Lord Vancroft guided Aurora to learn how to control and develop her power. They explored different parts of the temple, examined ancient inscriptions, and tried to feel the flow of mana energy.
However, what interested Aurora the most was her ability to create mana stones. Under Lord Vancroft's supervision, she made her first attempts. When she raised her hands, glowing lights appeared and slowly solidified into small stones.
Aurora was amazed by this experience. She could create magical stones with her own hands! Growing even more excited, she tried to produce stones of different sizes and colors. Contrary to expectations, she didn't feel tired at all. The more stones she created, the more energetic she felt.
After a while, she had a bag full of mana stones in front of her. She had created stones in the rarest colors and types. This was both surprising and a perfect power for her.
That night, while sitting in front of the temple's altar, Lord Vancroft brought up the decision to go to the South again.
"Aurora," Lord Vancroft said, his voice serious, "the offer to go to the South still stands. The King and Prince Rohan are waiting for you."
Aurora nodded. "I know, Father. But there will be so many mages there. How will I hide my power?"
Lord Vancroft was right. The Southern Kingdom was quite advanced in magic and was home to many talented mages. Aurora's mana power could be noticed immediately there.
"You will have to hide your power from them," Lord Vancroft said. "You must not tell anyone that you have awakened your mana power. Claim it is another type of power."
Aurora frowned. "But which power? Do I have to lie?"
"This is not a lie, it is a strategy," Lord Vancroft explained. "We have to do this to protect your power. Otherwise, they might try to use you like a mana stone."
Aurora hadn't considered this possibility. She knew her father was right. Mana power was both a blessing and a curse.
"Then what will I do when I cast spells?" Aurora asked. "What if I need to use mana stones?"
"You should use mana stones in front of others," Lord Vancroft said. "This will make them think you are a normal mage. Most mages need mana stones to enhance their spells. But when you are alone, you can cast spells without needing mana stones. That is your true power."
Aurora nodded. It would be a difficult task, but she believed she could handle it.
"And try not to be too conspicuous," Lord Vancroft added. "Don't show off your power and abilities too much. Be humble and try not to attract attention."
Aurora smiled. "Don't worry, Father. I won't forget what I've learned."
That night, in the temple, Aurora learned the rules of her new life. She had to hide her power, avoid attracting attention, and always be vigilant. But these challenges would not deter her. On the contrary, she was even more eager to grow stronger and learn.
