After leaving the King's chambers, Aurora's mind was in turmoil. Her father's knowledge of dark magic contradicted what Martha had previously told her. Martha had stated unequivocally that there were no magic users in the Vancroft family.

Determined to learn the truth, Aurora went to confront her father. She found Lord Vancroft in his study, waiting for her. He was looking out the window, his face etched with deep thought.

"Father," Aurora said, her voice resolute. "We need to talk."

Lord Vancroft turned to his daughter. "I know. It's time I told you some things."

Aurora sat down opposite her father. "Martha told me there were no magic users in our family. But that's not true. You're fighting against dark magic. Why did you lie to me?"

Lord Vancroft sighed deeply. "To protect you. Magic can be a dangerous power. Especially dark magic. Do you remember what happened to your mother?"

Aurora nodded. She remembered her mother being constantly ill and unable to get out of bed.

"Your mother," Lord Vancroft said, his voice trembling with pain, "was exposed to dark magic. I tried to save her, but... I wasn't entirely successful. That's why she's constantly ill."

Aurora's eyes filled with tears. She now understood the reason for her mother's suffering.

"I wanted to protect you from the same danger," Lord Vancroft continued. "I didn't want you to get involved with magic. But I see that your curiosity and talent are drawing you to this path."

"But I want to learn," Aurora said, her voice pleading. "I helped you save the King. I can fight against dark magic."

Lord Vancroft looked at his daughter for a long time. There was both worry and pride in his eyes.

"I know," he said finally. "You have the strength of your mother and me within you. But you also carry your mother's fate."

Aurora listened intently to her father's words. "Will you tell me everything? Our family's past, our war against dark magic?"

Lord Vancroft nodded. "I will. But first, we must be sure that you can bear the responsibility of this power."

That night, Lord Vancroft revealed his family's secrets to Aurora. He told her about the long-standing struggle against dark magic, their losses, and their hopes. Aurora was both proud and frightened by her father's words. Her family's legacy was both a blessing and a curse.

"Now you know the truth," Lord Vancroft said when he finished speaking. "You must decide if you want to walk this path."

Aurora didn't hesitate for a moment. "I will walk it, Father. I will fight for my family, for the kingdom."

Lord Vancroft took his daughter's hand. "Then, we will fight together."

That night, Aurora's life changed completely. She was no longer just a young woman who had lost her memory, but also a warrior sworn to fight against the darkness.
