After years of trying the Snow family was unable to have children, so they went to an orphanage to adopt, hoping to fill that emptiness in their home. That’s where they met Elena, quite and alone all by herself. She didn't beg for love like other children and that's what caught their eye.

She was only three years old at the time when she became part of the Snow family. They treated her like their own child, showered her with love, hoping to give her everything that she had ever know. Despite all of that Elena felt that she stood in someone else's place. Until that day came where Mrs. Snow was pregnant. After years of trying they were finally able to have a child of their own.   The family rejoiced, and for the first time, Elena saw a kind of happiness in their eyes that she had never seen before. It was pure.

She was truly happy for them—and when the baby was born, a little girl named Lily, Elena loved her instantly. She held her gently, played with her, sang to her. To Elena, Lily wasn’t a threat—she was a sister. A piece of the family she never knew she needed. She loved her like she was her own. As saying goes there is always calm before the storm, Mrs. Snow passed away.

The heart of the home disappeared with her. The house that once echoed with warmth and laughter turned cold and quiet. Elena felt the shift immediately, everything changes after her passing, Mr. Snow was not the same person that Elena once knew. A once kind and gentle man, became distant. He buried himself in work, his grief leaving little room for anything else. The way he looked at Elena changed—not with anger, but with absence. As if the bond they once shared was tied to the woman they had both lost.

Elena tried. She helped with Lily, kept the house quiet, and held onto the memory of the love they once shared. But no matter what she did, the distance between her and Mr. Snow continued to grow. At some point Mr. Snow would be harsh on her but still than she didn't let it affect her. Elena sometimes wishes for Mrs. Snow's presence, wish for her to be alive so that she can feel the warmth that she once used to feel. But a piece of Mrs. Snow was left behind, her beloved little sister, one she love and take care of as her own sister.
