Scene 1: Hostel – Early Morning

🕘Time: 6:00 AM

David is brushing his teeth outside when Tobi runs up to him holding a phone.

Tobi (panting):

"Guy, I just saw it on the group chat o! CHM 101 TEST — NEXT MONDAY!"

David (chokes on water):

"Wetin?! We never even finish Topic 2!"

Yusuf (yawning from upstairs):

"Una go dey read like mad now. Me, I dey prepare spiritually."

Ikenna (with a sachet of Milo):

"Prepare spiritually for Chemistry? You dey mad?"

Scene 2: School – GST 101 Lecture Hall

Lecture Title: Use of English

👨‍🏫 Lecturer: Mr. Agbaje (funny, talks fast, always wears agbada)

Mr. Agbaje:

"In this course, you will learn how to write essays, letters, speeches, and reports. No, you cannot write like you're chatting on WhatsApp!"

Students laugh.

Bimpe:

"This one dey talk like MC. But he sabi book sha."

They take notes on:

Scene 3: Cafeteria – Break Time

David, Tobi, Yusuf, and Ikenna gather with plates of rice and beans.

David:

Tobi:

Ikenna:

Yusuf:

Ikenna:

Everyone laughs.

They read till 2:00 AM before sleeping.

Scene 5: Test Day – Monday

🕘Time: 9:00 AM

📍Location: Lecture Theatre 2

Dr. Afolabi walks in and drops printed test papers.

Dr. Afolabi:

"30 minutes. No talking. If I see you peep, you’re gone!"

David’s Sample Test Sheet:

Atomic number of Sodium – ✅ 11

Define element with example – ✅

State the Law of Conservation of Mass – ✅

List 3 branches of chemistry – ✅

Name one difference between a compound and a mixture – ❌ He got confused

David whispers to himself:

"God, help me pass. Amen."

He submits.

Scene 6: After Test – School Gate

Rachel pulls up in her dad’s car 🚗 (she came to surprise David).

Rachel:

"How was the test?"

David:

"Some questions chop my brain, but I try sha."

Samuel and Gift come out from the back seat with jollof rice in coolers.

Gift:

"My doctor! Come chop, you go need strength to pass exam!"

Everyone laughs. Yusuf even joins them.

Closing Scene:

That night, David kneels by his hostel bed, holding his chemistry textbook and whispers:

English:

"God, I commit this test into your hands. May I pass beyond expectations."

Yoruba:

"Oluwa, jọwọ gba adura mi. Jẹ́ kí n bori. Amin."
