Again

Title: Velvet Sin – Episode 4: "Again"

That afternoon:

The bar was dim, wrapped in lazy shadows and golden dusk. It was the kind of place where secrets settled in the corners and truth tasted like whiskey.

Kira: "Whiskey, neat. Keep 'em coming."

She slid onto the stool like she belonged there, but the smudge of her lipstick and the tremble in her hand betrayed her. Her black blouse was still tucked in, her hair a little messier now. Green eyes glossy.

She had spent the whole day in his office. His voice. His scent. His gaze that slipped over her like cold silk. And the worst part—he didn’t remember. Not her name. Not her touch. Not the first night he took her.

He forgot, but she never could.

The second glass hit harder than the first. By the fourth, she was feeling dangerous.

Across the bar, Kade Wolfe stepped in, dressed in charcoal grey. He didn’t belong here—too polished, too sharp—but the weight of his name made space wherever he went.

Kade (to bartender): "Scotch. No ice."

He hadn't planned to drink. Just needed silence. A break from the storm his new assistant stirred up in his blood. She was too sharp. Too poised. Too... familiar.

Green eyes.

He rubbed his temple. It couldn’t be her. Could it?

Then he saw her.

Leaning against the bar, lips parted, cheeks flushed. Her blouse slightly unbuttoned now. Hair falling over one shoulder. And those boots. Those boots.

Kade (quietly): "Miss Black?"

Kira turned. For a second, her smile was almost innocent.

Kira: "Well, well. Boss man out of the cage. Didn't think I'd see you here."

Kade: "Neither did I. How much have you had?"

Kira (grinning): "Enough to forget. Not enough to behave."

That grin. That fire. He should’ve walked away. Should’ve called her a cab. But instead, he sat down beside her.

Kade: "I don’t mix business with—"

Kira (interrupting): "Liar."

That one word cut. She leaned in, so close her breath kissed his jaw.

Kira: "Tell me you haven’t thought about it. About me. About bending me over that glass desk."

He exhaled hard. She was drunk, yes—but deliberate.

Kade: "You're going to regret this."

Kira: "Then give me something worth regretting."

That was it. That was the snap.

They were in the hotel within twenty minutes. Lips crashing, clothes tearing, the elevator a blur of hands and heat. She kissed him like she already knew his taste. He touched her like he couldn’t help himself.

Kira: "Sir..."

The way she said it—not as an employee. As something darker. Something needier.

He didn’t know why his chest ached when she said it. Why her scent wrapped around something deep in his brain, tugging.

And still, he couldn’t stop.

They didn’t make it to the bed at first.

Pinned against the hotel door, Kira gasped as his hands slipped beneath her blouse, fingertips grazing heated skin. His mouth was on hers—hungry, messy, claiming. Every kiss stole the air from her lungs. Every pull of his belt drove her further into the blur.

Kade: “You're going to ruin me.”

Kira: “Then let me.”

He lifted her easily, her legs wrapping around his waist, his mouth trailing down her neck. Moans muffled in kisses. The wall was cold, but his body burned.

By the time they hit the bed, they were lost.

Morning came with quiet cruelty.

Sunlight fell through the sheer curtains. Kade stretched beneath the soft hotel sheets, his skin still humming from the night before. The space beside him was warm, but empty.

He sat up slowly, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

Kade (to himself): "...Fuck."

The moment hit him all at once. He slept with his assistant. Again.

He didn’t remember leaving the bar. Didn't remember undressing her—or himself. But he remembered her voice. Her lips. Her body under his.

And worse: He wanted more.

He saw the black lace bra tossed on the floor. Her heels at the end of the bed. Her scent on his skin.

Kade stood, ran a hand through his hair, and pulled out his wallet. He hesitated, then left €1000 on the nightstand. Cold. Detached. Safe.

Kade: "This is a disaster."

He walked into the bathroom. Water running.

Kira’s eyes fluttered open to silence.

The space beside her was empty. But the scent—his scent—lingered. Her body ached, her lips swollen. She rolled over and saw the cash on the nightstand.

Kira (whispers): "Seriously...? Again?"

The bathroom door was closed, water still running.

She looked at the money. Her fingers hovered over it.

She felt small. Invisible.

Kira (quietly): "Twice now, and you still don’t see me."

She grabbed the cash, shoved it into her purse, and stood.

No note. No goodbye.

She slipped out of the room, heels clicking down the hallway.

Ten minutes later, Kade stepped out of the bathroom, towel slung around his waist, rubbing his hair dry.

Kade: "Kira?"

Silence.

The room was empty.

He looked at the nightstand. The money was gone.

His jaw tightened.

Kade (quietly): "She didn’t even say goodbye."

A strange hollowness crept into his chest.

He sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the spot where she’d lain hours ago.

Why did it feel like this wasn’t the first time?

Outside the hotel, Kira pulled her jacket tight around her. She stepped into the cold morning light, breath fogging the air.

Kira (softly): "I lied to you last time. I said it was someone else. But it was you."

She didn’t know why she said it.

Maybe to the wind. Maybe to herself.

But he wouldn’t know.

Not yet.
