The Stranger In Room 1407

Episode 1: The Stranger in Room 1407

First Meeting:

The evening had started like any other high-society gala Kade Wolfe attended, sleek, polished, and filled with the kind of people who never thought about anything outside their own bubble of wealth. He’d been to dozens of these events, but tonight felt different. The alcohol was flowing, the music loud, and Kade… was more than a little tipsy. He’d been drinking to drown out the loneliness that had started creeping in, something he couldn't shake after the endless cycle of business deals and shallow encounters.

That’s when he saw her.

Kira Black.

She wasn’t on the guest list — not that anyone could stop her. The woman walked in like she owned the entire place, effortlessly stunning in her black thigh-high boots and cropped jacket. Her long black hair cascaded in waves down her back, and her green, cat-like eyes scanned the room, as if daring anyone to challenge her.

She wasn’t supposed to be here. Kade knew that. But there was something about her — something magnetic. Something that made his usual I-don’t-care attitude falter for a second.

She caught him staring from across the room. And instead of shying away, she smiled. A wicked, dangerous smile.

It was all over after that.

Hours later, after too many drinks, and with his world slightly blurred around the edges, Kade found himself walking toward the private suite on the top floor of the hotel, and Kira was still with him. They’d exchanged a few words, but nothing that mattered. All Kade could focus on was how her green eyes glittered with mischief and the way she moved, like a storm, untamed and unafraid.

One moment, they were standing in front of the hotel elevator, exchanging heated words. The next, she was in his arms, lips crashing into his, her body pressed against his in the private elevator. Kade’s control, normally so ironclad, was slipping away, replaced with an urgent need he couldn’t quite understand. She was wild, untamed, and it drove him crazy.

They barely made it to the suite. Clothes were discarded quickly, and what followed was a chaotic, passionate night. She was everything he didn’t know he wanted. The way she kissed him, how she didn’t back down, how she wanted him just as much as he wanted her. They fit together like fire and ice, each one igniting something in the other.

Kade didn’t remember much after that, except the sensation of her lips on his skin, her body beneath his, and the soft, surprised gasp that left her mouth when he took her, for the first time. He didn’t remember her name. He didn’t need to. All that mattered was that she was there, she was real, and she burned him alive.

The Morning After:

The city didn’t sleep, but Kira Black did.

Eventually.

Last night was a blur of liquor-soaked laughter and dangerous choices. She hadn’t planned on ending up in a hotel suite with a man whose name she still didn’t know, a stranger in a suit, scent of whiskey on his breath, hands like sin on skin.

Now, the sun spilled through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the hotel suite. Kira sat on the edge of the bed, the sheet clinging to her skin. Her legs ached, her heart raced, and the soft rustle of silk sheets behind her was the only reminder of what she’d done.

She looked over her shoulder. He was still asleep. Deep, slow breaths. His face peaceful, almost cold. Too clean, too perfect. His chest rose and fell beneath the expensive sheets, like nothing happened. Like he hadn’t ruined her last night.

There was blood on the bed.

Her blood.

Kira’s lips curled into a bitter smile. First time? Yeah. And he didn’t even know it.

She rose quietly, grabbing her clothes one by one. Her black boots. Her jacket. The necklace with the tiny cross. No note. No goodbye.

By the time the clock struck 9:00 AM, she was gone.

Kade Wolfe woke up with a headache splitting through his skull like thunder cracking glass. The room was quiet. Too quiet. His hand brushed the sheets beside him, cold. Empty. And stained with red.

He stretched, the dull ache in his head from the alcohol making his thoughts foggy. His body felt strange, sore, yet satisfied, as if something had shifted in him that he didn’t quite understand.

But then, his gaze shifted to the bed.

His pristine white sheets were stained. There was blood on the cover, faint but enough to catch his eye.

A surge of confusion hit him. The memories from last night were hazy, fragments of heat and passion that slipped through his fingers. He tried to recall her, the woman who’d been in his bed, whose body he’d taken as if it was his right. But… her name? Nothing. Her face? Too blurry. All he could remember were her eyes, green, like emeralds, and her long, wavy black hair.

He groaned, running a hand through his hair. "What the hell happened?"

The aftermath of a night spent with a woman whose name he didn’t even know had never felt so… unsettling.

And for the first time in years, Kade Wolfe felt something he didn’t know how to handle.

Curiosity.
