My Contract With a Serpent
The seer
Somewhere in the modern city is a secret door to a world that's different from ours. The seer stays underground and only those qualified to meet her are the ones who find their way to the dark stairs that leads to the secret room.
Eva,, and Jenna has known about the seer through a dream that Eva had when she was 13. She had dreamt of a secret door in the forest behind the orphanage and when she told Jenna, her adventurous side kicked in and she forced Eva to go and take a look.
To their surprise, there was really a door and when they opened it, they were welcomed to a world of magic, secrets and mysteries.
It was through that door that they learned their true identities.
With a shiver, Eva holds tightly to Jenna and sighs. She's not scared of going down the eerie stairs but it's what she might hear from the seer that scares her.
Seer
Welcome, my dear children.
Jenna(FL/sister)
*bows* Ma!
Seer
*eyes closed* Take the white blindfold on the table and tie it on your sister, Jenna.
As of custom, Jenna takes the white blindfold and ties it around Eva's eyes. With the seer, Eva does not need to explain her dreams. The moment she enters the hidden door, the seer seems to know everything.
Once Jenna ties the blindfold, she steps back and watches as her sister's hair changes color, from pure black to pure white. She is surrounded by a strong aura that revolves around her...this is the side of her that no one except her knows, and they aim to keep it a secret.
The seer begins to chant inaudibly, and a strong wind fills the room. Jenna kneels down and clings to her blazer. The aura from her sister is too strong that it forces her to close her eyes.
The seer stops chanting, and the air calms, her sister's hair returns to black and she falls to the ground

*rushes to her* Eva!
Jenna(FL/sister)
Are you okay?
Eva/ Fl
*nods* Mmm! Am fine.
Seer
*opens her eyes* She used a lot of her energy trying to figure out what the dream meant, give her some minutes.
Jenna(FL/sister)
Have you figured it out?
Seer
The meaning of the dream is obvious
Jenna(FL/sister)
*frowns* What do you mean?
Seer
Your sister is the chosen one.
Jenna(FL/sister)
*snorts* What nonsense are you spewing now?
Jenna(FL/sister)
We came here to find answers not fables.
Eva/ Fl
*moans* Jenna! Be polite.
Jenna(FL/sister)
*grinds her teeth* Then tell me what the dream means.
Seer
I've told you countless times about the conflict between your lineage and the serpents...
Jenna(FL/sister)
They haven't been heard from for ages... aren't they extinct?
Seer
Dear child, if your kind still exists then you must be prepared that your enemies still live. They are just keeping a low profile.
Seer
And your sister here is a living proof.
Jenna(FL/sister)
*confused* What do you mean?
Seer
One of the things that helped your ancestors survive the attacks of the serpents was the ability to sense their presence. However, this was not for everyone for the magic was too strong and only a few people could master it. Some managed to master it but could not handle the dreams that came with sensing the serpents.
Jenna(FL/sister)
So you mean Eva can sense the serpents, does that mean we have one close by?
Seer
*looks at Eva* The sensing magic was meant to be mastered, it was never inherited.
Jenna(FL/sister)
*eyes wide at Eva* Have you been mastering dark magic in secret?
Eva/ Fl
*effortlessly* Are you crazy?
Eva/ Fl
You know I already hate my lineage that I have to keep it a secret, why would I bother mastering such useless magic.
Jenna(FL/sister)
The how do you...*turns to the seer* How does she sense them if she is not mastering it?
Seer
*smiles* She has been chosen by the spirits of creation...
Seer
*sighs* It's confidential, it seems I can't get through.
Jenna(FL/sister)
*chuckles* When did communicating with spirits become hacking some sort of system for you to get through?
Seer
The spirit realm is not an easy place to get to. And the spirits we are talking about here are not your mere go to spirits. These are spirits that determines the fate of the world.
Seer
*worriedly* Am afraid something big is going on, that's the only reason they would do this.
Seer
*turns to Eva* You must be careful, if the man in your dreams is the serpent you've been seeing, then keep a careful eye out.
Eva exchanges a glance with Jenna.
Jenna(FL/sister)
Don't worry, I'll not let anyone harm my sister.
Seer
*chuckles* Only fate can decide.
Jenna(FL/sister)
*frowns at the seer* Then I am willing to fight with fate to the end.
Eva/ Fl
*smiles* Be careful, little sis. Fate can be tricky.
Jenna(FL/sister)
*smirks* I can be trickier.

From now on I'll work harder on mastering magic. If any serpent comes by, I'll not spare it.

*briefly smiles at her sister before looking away sadly*...
