The chamber trembled beneath Lucivar’s power. Shadows curled from his fingertips like living things, coiling toward Celeste and Kael as if hungry for their souls. Behind them, Astraea was barely conscious, cradled in Nyra’s arms, her light flickering.
Celeste stepped forward.
The mark on her wrist ignited.
“I’m not afraid of you,” she said, voice steady.
Lucivar’s laugh echoed through the chamber. “Oh, but you should be. You wield a fire you do not understand. You walk in a legacy soaked in blood. And you dare challenge a king in his own court.”
“I’m not here to challenge you,” Celeste said. “I’m here to end you.”
Flame erupted from her palms—pure, celestial, tinged with starlight. The heat clashed with the cold of Lucivar’s darkness, and the entire realm shuddered under their power.
Kael summoned his blade—Forged from Infernal steel, but its edge now glowed with her fire. He stepped beside her. “This ends now, Father.”
Lucivar’s crown flared.
The battle began.
---
Shadow against flame. Steel against void. For every blow Kael struck, Lucivar countered with ancient magic. Celeste wove through the fight like wildfire, her flames bending around the shadows, her soul flaring with fury and resolve.
Lucivar hurled Kael back with a wave of force. “You were never strong enough to take my place. That’s why I cast you out.”
Kael rose slowly, blood trickling from his lip. “And yet here I am—standing where you fear me most.”
Nyra guarded Astraea, fending off shadow beasts that slipped through the cracks in reality. Eryss and her rebels began flooding into the prison, engaging Lucivar’s elite guard.
But it was Celeste who drew Lucivar’s full attention.
“You have her eyes,” he murmured, circling her now. “Seraphine. The angel who dared love a demon. She thought love could change fate. She was wrong.”
“She was right,” Celeste growled. “Because love made me strong enough to burn fate down.”
Her flames surged, becoming a cyclone of gold and crimson. Lucivar howled, shielding his form—but his crown cracked.
Celeste saw her chance.
She drove the flame directly into his heart.
Lucivar screamed—a sound that ripped the sky. The shadows twisted around him, spasmed, then began to unravel. His body crumbled to ash.
His crown fell to the stone.
Silence.
---
Kael picked up the crown. “It’s done.”
“No,” Celeste said softly, falling to her knees beside Astraea. “Not yet.”
Astraea opened her eyes slowly. “The Fourth Seal… it’s weakening. He started it before we arrived.”
“What happens if it breaks?” Nyra asked.
Astraea looked at Celeste. “Then all the realms fall.”
Celeste clenched her fists. “Then we stop it.”
Eryss stepped forward, bloodied but smiling. “You’re the flame now. The people of this realm will follow you.”
Celeste rose, looking at the fallen crown.
“I don’t want to rule,” she said.
Kael stepped forward, his hand brushing hers. “Then let’s fix what was broken. Together.”
---
They stood united—Celeste, Kael, Astraea, Nyra, and the rebels—staring into the coming storm. The Fourth Seal pulsed in the distance, a monolith of chaos held by ancient chains.
And the final battle was only beginning.
