Love Kickoff – Episode 8: “Crossroads of the Heart”

---

SCENE 1 – “Words Never Sent”

Setting: Eikō’s penthouse. Dim lighting. The desk lamp casts a soft glow on a sheet of paper. He’s writing… carefully, deliberately.

> *“Ayame,

You were there before the spotlight.

You always believed in me—maybe more than I believed in myself.

I saw you, too. Every day. Every time you cheered in your own quiet way.

Maybe I was scared.

Maybe I was too late.

Maybe… there’s still time.”

He folds the letter, places it in an envelope, writes her name…

Then stops. Stares. Sighs.

He slides it into his drawer… unopened. Unsent.

SCENE 2 – “The Girl Who Waited”

Setting: School courtyard, under the sakura trees. Yuna and Eikō walk after class, talking about the upcoming match.

YUNA (smiling):

“You’ve been quieter than usual. You okay?”

EIKŌ (smirking):

“Just...a lot in my head. Big choices.”

YUNA (gently):

“I’m here, y’know. Even if you don’t choose to stay.”

As they walk, Yuna glances across the courtyard—Ayame is laughing with Yoda again. Yuna hesitates, then asks:

YUNA:

“Do you… like her?”

EIKŌ (surprised):

“Who?”

YUNA:

“Ayame.”

Eikō doesn’t answer immediately. The moment stretches.

EIKŌ:

“I used to wonder if maybe…

But right now, I think I need to focus on what’s real.”

Yuna’s heart skips—but she doesn’t ask what “real” means.

---

SCENE 3 – “The Call”

Setting: After sunset. Eikō’s phone buzzes. Unknown number.

EIKŌ:

“Hello?”

ISABEL (on call, Spanish accent):

“Hiroshima. This is Isabel Moreno. Barcelona. We don’t usually call this early, but your situation… is special.”

EIKŌ:

“I know who you are.”

ISABEL:

“You’re not just a player. You’re a decision. For us. For Madrid.

Come to La Masia, and you’ll train like a European.

Or go to Madrid, and carry pressure with every step.

Either way—you were born for this.”

EIKŌ (silent for a beat):

“What if I’m not ready?”

ISABEL (soft):

“Then don’t come to prove anything. Come to grow.

But if you wait too long… someone else will take your spot.”

She hangs up. The phone is silent. Eikō stares at the city skyline again.

---

SCENE 4 – “Takashi's Question”

Setting: Rooftop again. Eikō and Takashi sit on crates, drinking juice boxes like they’re 12.

TAKASHI:

“So… Barça or Madrid?”

EIKŌ (quiet):

“…What if I didn’t choose either yet?”

TAKASHI:

“You scared?”

EIKŌ:

“Not scared. Just… I love football. But I love this, too.

The rooftop, our team, the dumb jokes before warm-up…”

TAKASHI (grinning):

“Bro, you sound like you’re about to write a drama script.”

EIKŌ (laughs):

“Maybe I already am.”

SCENE 5 – "International knock"

_The Japanese National football team is in high hopes because as Eikō is young he plays like the next Cristiano Ronaldo and at this point they've been watching him for years_

HEAD COACH:How long is it going to take for us to get this kid on the national team we can't let him hit the Spanish capital without signing or else Spain will have eyes on him too

Assistant Chairperson:WE should just keep an eye on him for now because if we act fast who knows what what kind of pressure the kid is going through he's only 16 ....it's key for him to have a good development stage ans even though he stands out more than the players we have he has heart and that fire that makes him strive so let's just be on watch duty for now

HEAD COACH:You have a point but we should definitely keep a close eye on him and there's this other kid in his school Riku he's good aswelll honestly

Assistant Chairperson:*sighs* if you say so

_The episode ends with a small light on the Japanese football contract with Eikō’s name on it_
