One Bed, Two Hearts

EPISODE 3 – “One Bed, Two Hearts”

The mansion was quiet.

Too quiet.

Elias followed behind Enzo, his footsteps soft against the polished floors. Every hallway felt endless, dimly lit with golden sconces and rich shadows. The kind of place where secrets liked to settle.

Enzo didn’t say much just the occasional glance over his shoulder to make sure Elias was still there.

“You live here alone?” Elias asked softly.

Enzo shrugged. “Alone enough.”

That didn’t help his nerves.

They reached a tall door. Enzo opened it with a soft click and stepped inside, motioning for Elias to follow.

It was huge. More like a luxury hotel suite than a bedroom. Floor-to-ceiling windows, heavy curtains, shelves of old books, dark wood furniture... and right in the center: one massive bed.

Just one.

Elias blinked. “U-Um... where’s my room?”

Enzo looked over at him, that signature little smirk tugging at his lips. “This is your room.”

Elias’s face burned. “But there’s only one bed.”

“I noticed.” Enzo stepped further in, casually unbuttoning the rest of his shirt like it was nothing. “What, afraid I’ll bite?”

“N-No!”

“Well…” He tossed the shirt onto a nearby chair, revealing his tan, perfectly sculpted torso. “You look like you might want me to.”

Elias choked on air. “I—!!”

Enzo chuckled, deep and low. He crossed the room and opened a closet, pulling out a soft black shirt. “You’re soaking. Get changed before you freeze.”

“I don’t have anything to wear…”

Enzo tossed the shirt at him. “Wear this.”

Elias caught it, heart fluttering. It smelled like him dark cologne and something sharper. His fingers gripped the fabric a little tighter. He turned away, cheeks pink, and slipped into the shirt. It hung down to mid-thigh, brushing his skin.

When he turned around, Enzo was already lying on the bed, one arm behind his head, watching.

Elias hesitated. “Should I... sleep on the couch?”

“There is no couch.” Enzo patted the space beside him. “Bed’s warm.”

Elias slowly, awkwardly, slid under the covers—keeping his back to Enzo, trying to breathe normally. Which was impossible.

The room felt hotter by the second.

“You’re quiet,” Enzo said behind him.

Elias buried his face in the pillow. “You’re not helping.”

“Helping with what?”

“My heart.”

Enzo chuckled again. “It’s cute when you’re honest.”

There was a pause. Silence stretched. Then-

“Enzo?”

“Mm?”

“Why me?”

The bed dipped slightly as Enzo moved closer, his voice soft near Elias’s ear. “Because you’re soft. And I ruin everything I touch.”

Elias turned his head, eyes wide. “So… don’t touch me?”

Enzo smirked. “Exactly.”

But he didn’t move away.

He just let the moment hang close enough to feel the heat of his breath. Close enough that Elias thought maybe-

But no. Enzo rolled onto his back again with a sigh. “Sleep, bunny. Tomorrow’s another long day.”

Elias stared at the ceiling, pulse wild.

He wasn’t sure if he felt safe… or dangerously comfortable.

But he did know one thing:

He didn’t want to leave.
