CHAPTER III

When they arrived at their base, Sabrina noticed that the two were unconscious, so she quickly approached them and made sure they were okay.

Upon Sabrina and the girl's arrival at their base, they were sadly greeted by Lola Susan and Ching.

Sabrina cried and hugged Lola Susan tightly. After a few days, while Sabrina's wound was being treated, it slowly healed, as did the girl's wounds. The girl approached her and introduced herself.

"I'm Rhian," she said. Sabrina looked at her and said, "Sabrina." Their hearts became close to each other because Sabrina saw her sister Samantha in Rhian.

They were all resting, except for Sabrina, who couldn't forget Mang Tommy's disappearance.

He was the only one who made her feel the love of a good parent, but then he suddenly disappeared after they were rescued. Sabrina's eyes finally got tired, and she fell asleep.

The next day, Lola Susan woke her up to start their journey to find a way out of the base. Their bodies were weak from days without food, but they fought to go home. As they journeyed, they noticed they were just going around in circles, so they decided to rest.

While her companions rested, Sabrina walked around to find a way out. Suddenly, she saw a figure again. This time, it was Mang Tommy. Sabrina was overjoyed to see him and immediately hugged him.

"I thought you were gone, Mang Tommy," Sabrina said tearfully, hugging Mang Tommy.

Sabrina and Mang Tommy returned to where they left their companions. They went back to their base, and Mang Tommy talked to them. He said he found a possible way out, but he wasn't sure if it was the right one.

So, they decided to go there after they had all rested. Mang Tommy also shared the food he found while traveling and searching for a way out.

After they ate, they immediately rested, but Sabrina and Mang Tommy remained awake. "Why aren't you sleeping yet?" Mang Tommy asked me. "I'm not sleepy yet. What about you, why aren't you resting?" I asked him while looking far away. "I couldn't wait to finally go home," Mang Tommy said with excitement. "Me too, Tatay Tommy," Sabrina said with a smile, looking at Mang Tommy.

Mang Tommy suddenly hugged Sabrina with joy on his face. He didn't expect her to call him "father." Throughout his life, since his child passed away, he had always wanted to see his child again and be called "father." But unfortunately, it didn't happen, and he was grateful to feel like a father again.

The next day, they all woke up and prepared themselves to leave. They hugged each other before departing. Lola Susan approached Sabrina, "Child, take this," handing her a ring. "For what, Lola?" Sabrina asked, returning the ring to Lola Susan's hand.

"If we manage to escape, this will remind you of me. I might not make it; my body might not be able to take it," Lola Susan said with a smile, putting the ring back in her hand. "Don't say that, Lola. I'll find you if we get separated," Sabrina promised, accepting the ring and hugging the old woman.

They started walking, with Mang Tommy leading the way, followed by Sabrina, who was helping Ching, while Lola Susan and Rhianne held hands. Sabrina noticed a familiar shadow again.

She stopped walking, and the others stopped, wondering why. Unlike before, she faced the man, but he suddenly fell, and she quickly approached him.

She noticed he was injured and examined his face. She wasn't mistaken; it was her childhood friend. "Tatay Tommy, please help me, he's my friend," Sabrina pleaded with Mang Tommy.

Mang Tommy quickly helped the young man stand up and brought him to the side to treat his wounds. Their plan was delayed again, so they decided to rest and treat Sabrina's friend.

Mang Tommy and Sabrina discussed their plan for the next day when Sabrina's friend suddenly woke up, and they immediately approached him.

"Are you okay? Just rest," Sabrina said, taking care of her friend. "W-where am I...who are you?" He held his head, feeling pain, and when he saw Sabrina, he was surprised and said, "What are you doing here, Sab? Why are we here?" He asked with excitement, seeing his friend.

"I don't know either, but we're leaving tomorrow, don't worry," Sabrina said, smiling. "By the way, this is Tatay Tommy, Lola Susan, Rhianne, and Ching.

They're my companions here, and I consider them family." They all smiled. "I'm hungry, do you have food here?" Sabrina's friend asked her.

Sabrina quickly asked Mang Tommy if there was any food left, and he handed her a few pieces of bread. Sabrina immediately gave it to her friend, who looked hungry and quickly ate.

After finishing his meal, he thanked everyone. After a few hours, they all fell asleep again, preparing themselves for what they would do the next day.

Sabrina remained awake to watch over her companions, and her friend suddenly woke up. "Why are you still awake?" her friend asked, sitting beside her.

"I couldn't sleep, maybe because I'm excited and worried if we'll be able to escape when we find the right way out," Sabrina replied.

"How did you discover the way out?" her friend asked skeptically.

"Mang Tommy told us, after we rescued Rhianne from the crocodile. We thought Mang Tommy was gone because of the massive explosion he caused, but thankfully, he came back to us alive," Sabrina said.

Her friend remained silent, and Sabrina asked, "Are you okay, Keith? Did I say something wrong?" Keith didn't answer, and Sabrina remained quiet, still thinking about her friend's earlier words. She had eaten and was still silent, which caught Mang Tommy's attention.

"Are you okay, child? Why aren't you talking to your friend?" Mang Tommy asked, concerned.

"I'm fine, Tay. Don't worry," Sabrina replied.

"Are you sure, child?" Mang Tommy asked again.

Sabrina's mind was still occupied with her friend's words, and she remained silent until they saw a bright light.

Sabrina felt at peace, thinking they would finally be able to go home and end their suffering. However, as they approached the light, it slowly disappeared.

They were all confused and felt doubtful and disappointed. Suddenly, a group of young men blocked their path, armed and threatening.
