The Man With Infinite Ability
Chapter 1: Awakening
The city pulsed with neon life, the sky a canvas of black ink lit only by artificial stars. Kazuki Hiragi, a 22-year-old university student, jolted upright in bed, drenched in cold sweat. The dream—the same one that had haunted him for weeks—left a ringing in his ears and a pounding in his chest. He saw visions of floating mountains, shimmering beasts, and a voice that was not his own whispering his name.
"Kazuki... awaken. The time has come."
He rubbed his temples, trying to shake the images from his mind, but they clung like fog. Something was changing. He could feel it.
The next day, whispers followed him through campus. People pointed. Murmured.
"Did you hear? Kazuki blacked out yesterday. Woke up and solved every problem the professor gave him."
"Like... perfectly. Not a single mistake."
His best friend, Yui Takashima, caught up with him near the science building. Her short brown hair bounced with each step.
"Kazuki! You okay? You were totally out of it yesterday."
He hesitated. "I... I don't know what's happening to me. I feel different. Like there's something inside me... waking up."
That afternoon, Kazuki took a shortcut through an alley. The air felt thick. Men in black suits appeared as if from nowhere, their eyes cold, their presence suffocating.
"Kazuki Hiragi," one said. "Come with us."
"Who are you?!" he demanded, backing away.
They lunged. Instinct took over. His hand rose, and with a sound like cracking thunder, a pulse of energy exploded from his palm. The men were thrown backwards like rag dolls.
Breathing hard, Kazuki stared at his hands. "What... was that?"
Elsewhere, in a dark facility, a man watched the footage. His face was obscured, but his voice was low and commanding.
"He’s awakened. Initiate the next phase."
That evening, Kazuki stood on a rooftop, staring out at the sprawling city. Lights flickered like stars below.
"What am I becoming?" he whispered.
A new world had opened before him. And he had no choice but to walk into it.
He thought back to the dream—the voice, the visions, and the feeling of being pulled toward something vast and powerful. It hadn't just been a dream. It was a calling. One he could no longer ignore. The questions that had haunted him his whole life—why he always felt out of place, why he could understand things faster than others—were finally beginning to make sense.
His phone buzzed again. Another message, this one even more cryptic: "Trust no one. Your gift is only the beginning."
Kazuki felt a shiver crawl up his spine. He wasn’t just different. He was dangerous. And if he didn’t figure out the truth soon, the people hunting him would make sure he never got the chance.
Somewhere deep inside, a spark had ignited. He didn’t know what he was capable of yet, but he was starting to realize that this was more than fate. It was a test. And failure wasn’t an option.
