Siheng managed to shove the kid back toward the zookeeper net.
The crocodile lunged.
And Ruoxian’s hand moved with inhuman precision
He grabbed a nearby iron rod meant for staff emergencies and slammed it across the beast’s snout
The croc hissed and turned back. Ruoxian still didn’t look at it. He only turned to Minyu.

You are safe now
Ruoxian guided trembling Minyu to exit, his fists clenched so he doesn't touch Minyu even accidentally
Later, after the chaos subdued—
Staff ran to secure the perimeter. Parents rushed to shield their kids
And standing in the middle of the madness—

Ruoxian stood behind them, eyes narrow.
No words. No sound. Just a single cold stare.
The kid—already sobbing—froze when their eyes met. He hiccuped, sniffed, and cried harder

The mom gasped. “He didn’t mean to—!”
Siheng stood a few feet away, arms crossed, silent
Minyu stepped forward, still shaky. She reached for Zhaoran’s sleeve

Her hand was cold.
Zhaoran looked at her—at the red scratch on her neck, at her soaked frame—and he swallowed hard.
He didn’t thank Ruoxian.
But he moved back.
And that silence said more than words ever could
Ruoxian, meanwhile, stayed just behind Minyu.
Not too close.
Not too far.
He watched her like she was fragile porcelain.
His hand hovered at her back—but didn’t touch.
Not until she leaned slightly his way.
Only then, he placed his hand gently at her lower back. Just enough to steady her.
Then when everything became calm
Arielle approached Siheng.
Her voice was cold
