Chapter 4

Mia nodded, and Alex took her hand, leading her away from the scene. As they walked, Alex couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. He glanced around but saw nothing. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was a tall, imposing man with piercing blue eyes.

Man:I see you're still getting into trouble.

Alex's eyes narrowed.

Alex: Kai! What are you doing here?

Kai smiled.

Kai:I'm here to help, Alex. Sabine's not the only one who has been watching you.

Mia's eyes darted between Alex and Kai, confusion etched on her face.

Mia :who is Kai? And what's going on?

Alex hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But Kai beat him to it.

Kai:I'm Kai Alex's ...friend. And as for what's going on ......well let's just say.... Alex is in a bit of ...a situation.

Alex shot Kai a warning look, but Kai just smiled.

Kai: Don't worry, Alex. I'm here to help. And I think Mia should know what's going on.

Alex sighed, realizing that he had no choice but to trust Kai.

Alex:Fine.let's go somewhere and talk.

And with that the three of them set of into the night, bound for a destination and known. As the walked Kai filled Mia on the basics of Alex's situation.

Kai: Alex is a vampire, Mia. And Sabine is an old...friend of his. She's been watching him, and she's not happy about his relationship with you.

Mia's eyes widened in shock, but she didn't pull away from Alex.

Mia:Why isn't Sabine happy about us?

Alex hesitated, unsure of how much to But Kai jumped in before Alex could.

Kai:Sabine has here own motivations,Mia.And one of them is to keep Alex from getting too close to humans.

Mia's eyes narrowed.

Mia: What do you mean?

Kai leaned in,his voice dropping to a whisper.

Kai:Sabine is part of a group of vampires who believe that humans are inferior.And they'll stop at nothing to keep vampires from forming relationships with humans.

Alex's eyes flashed with anger, but Kai continued.

Kai: But that's not all,Mia.There's something else going on.Something that could put you in grave danger.

Suddenly,a figure emerged from the shadows.It was a woman with long curly hair and piercing green eyes.

Woman:Ah,Kai.I see you're still spreading your lies.

Kai smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement.

Kai:Ah, Jasmine.Always a pleasure.

Jasmine's eyes flicked to Mia, and another expression hardened.

Jasmine: You're the human who's been seeing Alex.I should have known.

Mia stood tall,her eyes flashing with defiance.

Mia:I'm not afraid of you.

Jasmine smiled,her fangs glinting in the moonlight.

Jasmine: We'll see about that....
