Andheri West, Mumbai
In the bustling city of Mumbai, the headquarters of one of the most renowned news channels, "SSB", was buzzing with activity. The air was electric with excitement as the channel prepared for one of its grandest broadcasts yet. The massive studio was filled with a lively audience, eagerly waiting for the show to begin.
This wasn't just an ordinary broadcast. It was a nationwide spectacle, live-streamed across the country. Millions of viewers were glued to their screens, waiting to witness the much-anticipated guest of the evening.
On the grand stage, under the brilliant glow of studio lights, a charismatic news reporter sat upright in her chair. With a dazzling smile and an air of professionalism, she faced the camera.
Reporter: "Namaste, India! Welcome to our special broadcast. Today, we have someone extraordinary with us. Someone whose presence alone commands admiration and respect. Meeting him is not just a dream for many, but a golden opportunity."
The audience erupted into thunderous applause, their cheers echoing through the expansive studio.
The reporter waited for the claps to subside before continuing.
Reporter: "Yes, you heard it right. The man we are about to meet is an inspiration for millions. People wait for hours, sometimes days, just for a single meeting with him. Every minute of his time is worth millions, yet his humble demeanor leaves a lasting impression."
A pause filled with anticipation.
Reporter: "Ladies and gentlemen, we are talking about the backbone of the Kapoor Group, the man who has led his company to unparalleled heights. At such a young age, he has not only established himself as a successful entrepreneur but has also become a role model for today’s youth. His company, 'AX Design', is now India’s leading name in architecture and design."
Another round of applause echoed through the studio.
Reporter: "It is my honor to welcome the CEO of 'AX Design', the eldest son of Kapoor Group's president Aditya Kapoor, the one and only — Ayansh Kapoor!"
The cheers grew louder as the camera shifted focus.
The lens zoomed in on the man of the hour — Ayansh Kapoor.
Seated in an elegant chair, Ayansh exuded power and sophistication. He was a strikingly handsome young man of twenty-five, with a sculpted physique and sharp features. His jet-black hair was neatly styled, and his deep, intense eyes held a magnetic pull. Dressed impeccably in a tailored three-piece suit, he wore a sleek, luxury watch on his wrist — a symbol of his success.
Despite the admiration showered upon him, Ayansh maintained a composed demeanor. His gaze was unwavering, and his presence alone commanded the attention of the entire room. There was an air of authority around him, and yet, an unmistakable sense of mystery lingered in his eyes.
As the audience continued their applause, Ayansh acknowledged them with a subtle nod, his expression unreadable.
The stage was set.
The world was watching. And Ayansh Kapoor — the man who conquered the world of business — was ready to speak.
"Let’s give a big round of applause and welcome the man of the hour, the CEO of Kapoor Group — Mr. Ayansh Kapoor!" the host announced with enthusiasm.
The audience clapped, their admiration evident. Ayansh walked onto the stage with his signature composed demeanor, a slight nod acknowledging the applause.
"Welcome to the show, Mr. Kapoor," the host greeted.
"Thank you," Ayansh replied, his deep voice resonating through the room.
The host smiled. "As we all know, Kapoor Group has made a significant mark in the world of construction and architecture.
Under your leadership, it has expanded into hospitality and retail with your SR Hotels and Malls. On top of that,
you belong to a family of achievers — your grandfather, Colonel Balraj Kapoor, a respected army veteran;
your father, Aditya Kapoor, a renowned builder; and
your mother, Meenakshi Kapoor, a celebrated philanthropist who has given countless orphans a new life.
Coming from such a legacy, you have made a name for yourself, achieving milestones at a young age that most can only dream of."
Another round of applause echoed.
The host continued, "And once again, you've won the Best Architect Award, the Businessman of the Year Award, and the title of Business Tycoon. Year after year, you dominate these awards. How do you feel?"
Ayansh, maintaining his composed facade, answered, "Thank you, but these awards are not just mine. Every recognition is the result of the dedication and hard work of my team. They give their 100%, and that allows me to do the same. So, this is a shared achievement, not just my personal victory."
The host nodded in agreement. "A true leader uplifts those around him. You’ve certainly proven that, Mr. Kapoor."
Ayansh offered a small smile.
"But," the host's playful tone returned, "as much as you're a business icon, you’re also the country’s .most eligible bachelor Your fan following, especially among women, is unmatched. What’s your take on that? Any plans on giving up your bachelor title soon?"
For a brief moment, a flicker of discomfort crossed Ayansh's face. But he quickly masked it, his polite smile returning.
"Honestly, my focus right now is entirely on my company and expanding Kapoor Group further. There's still a long way to go, and that’s where all my energy is directed," he answered firmly.
Though the audience cheered, Ayansh’s assistant, Raghav, sensed the shift in his boss’s mood.
After the interview, Ayansh exited the building, his polished black car waiting at the entrance.
As soon as he settled into the back seat, Raghav cautiously approached.
"Sir, I apologize. I should've briefed them better. I know you don't like answering personal questions like that," he said, his tone laced with guilt.
Ayansh shook his head, his voice cold but calm. "You should've been more careful. I don’t have time for such trivial questions."
"Understood, sir," Raghav replied, feeling the weight of his words.
As the car sped through the bustling streets of Mumbai, the sky darkened, and soon, the rain began to pour. Droplets trickled down the glass, blurring the vibrant city lights.
Ayansh gazed out of the window, the rhythmic tapping of the rain stirring something within him — a storm of memories he fought so hard to suppress.
The streets outside were alive with laughter and joy. Children splashed in the puddles, their giggles resonating through the air. Couples walked hand in hand, savoring the romance that the rain brought with it. But for Ayansh, the rain wasn’t a symbol of joy.
It was a reminder.
A reminder of a past he wished to forget.
Raghav, noticing the sudden change in his expression, silently cursed the rain.
"Of all days, it had to rain today," Raghav thought. "As if the reporter’s questions weren’t enough, now this rain just had to make things worse."
He prayed for the signal to turn green quickly, hoping to escape the oppressive silence that had engulfed the car.
But the rain continued its relentless downpour, as if determined to awaken the ghosts of Ayansh’s past.
What was it about the rain that haunted him so deeply?
What memories lurked behind those intense eyes?
And would there ever be a day when the rain brought comfort instead of pain?
To be continued...
