He didn’t move. Didn’t flinch. Just let her put medicine on his cheek

Her fingers hovered just above the wound

You are shaking *says gently*

She didn’t answer. Couldn’t. Her hands hovered again, the antiseptic bottle clutched too tightly in her grip.

Lucien leaned forward just a little, lowering his voice to something so soft it made her breath catch.

Eva sat through two lectures, one club meeting, and a group assignment—and remembered exactly none of it.
