LOVE MADE 9
It was supposed to be a quiet afternoon. Lucien had chosen the quietest bench on campus, back under the shade near the science block. Book in hand. Coffee beside him. Peace.
Then Camden’s voice shattered the silence like a car crash through glass.
Camden Wolfe
So... how’s it feel to be someone’s muse?
Lucien didn’t even look up from his book
Camden plopped down beside him anyway, grinning like a devil freshly hired for mischief
Camden Wolfe
No can do, buddy. Not after seeing your face immortalized in art.
Lucien Hart
You saw the photo
*flipped the page*
Camden Wolfe
Oh, I didn’t just see it. I inhaled it. I absorbed it. I’ve never felt so spiritually attacked by a photo of another man
Theo Merier
Camden’s right though. It was a good photo.
*shrugs*
Lucien Hart
She’s good at what she does
*continues reading*
Camden Wolfe
Are we getting a sis in law now?
Lucien let out a slow sigh and closed his book
Camden Wolfe
Which means it’s true!🤣
*cracked*
Theo Merier
I would support that
*grins*
Lucien Hart
You two are idiots
Camden Wolfe
But we’re right. Admit it. You like her.
*grinning*
Lucien walked off, calm as ever
The hallway buzzed with end-of-class energy. Students shuffled past in clusters, voices echoing and bags slung over tired shoulders. Eva clutched her books tight against her chest, trying not to get dragged into the chaos of the crowd as she turned the corner near the stairwell.
Her shoulder knocked into someone's chest. Her books slipped. And her balance—gone.
She gasped as she stumbled forward—
But before she could hit the ground, a hand wrapped firmly around her wrist. The other moved to her waist, steadying her like it was muscle memory.
Eva Derrin
*breathing heavily*
Lucien Hart
You okay?
*soft voice*
His hand still held her waist.
She was close enough to see the silver glint of his earring, the way one strand of hair had fallen across his forehead, the faintest crease between his brows like he was—concerned.
Eva Derrin
I---yeah, sorry I wasn't looking
Lucien Hart
You never are
*teasing tone*
She flushed. Her voice cracked when she spoke
Eva Derrin
You don’t have to hold me like I’m gonna shatter.
Lucien Hart
You almost did
He didn’t let go right away.
Eva took a step back. His hands dropped. She bent to pick up her books way too quickly, nearly bumping into him again in the process.
