LOVE MADE 6
Eva wandered the rows, occasionally stopping to glance at posters or politely take pamphlets she didn’t plan to read. The art club gave her a cute sticker, the environmental club tried to guilt her into saving turtles, and someone shoved a cupcake into her hand with “JOIN BAKE CLUB” written in frosting.
Talia River
You look overwhelmed
Eva Derrin
I feel like I just got hit by extroversion
*mutters*
Talia River
Don’t worry. The good stuff’s usually near the back. The quieter booths
Eva nodded and let herself be pulled deeper into the maze.
Eva Derrin
*walks forward*
A table with a dark green cloth. Simple. Clean.
A banner above it that read: Campus Literary Society in elegant lettering.
Books stacked neatly. Poetry zines. A board filled with soft sketches and quotes.
No glitter. No balloons. Just calm.
Lucien Hart
*He looked up the second she stepped into view, like he’d known exactly where she was*
For a second, neither of them said anything.
Then Lucien offered her a pamphlet without a word, a soft smile curving his lips. He looked... relaxed. Hands in his pockets. Wearing a gray shirt and black jeans
Eva Derrin
You are in the literacy club?
Lucien Hart
I help out sometimes
Right on cue, Camden popped up from behind a stack of flyers, eating a cookie.
Camden Wolfe
Don’t let him fool you—he reads like a man possessed. Has opinions about metaphors and everything.
Eva Derrin
I believe it
*smiles*
Camden Wolfe
So what about you? You joining? You give off soft-poetry-under-moonlight energy.
*grinning*
Eva Derrin
I am just looking
*laughed*
Mira reappeared at her side, looking between them
Lucien gave a polite nod to Mira.
She nodded back, then glanced at Eva
Mira Lennox
You ready to keep looking?
Lucien reached into a small box beside the table and pulled something out—
A tiny folded paper crane with a line of poetry written along its wing.
He held it out to her.
Lucien Hart
It’s tradition
Lucien Hart
Everyone gets one
She took it slowly, brushing his fingers as she did. The paper was soft, delicate.
Eva Derrin
*sees the poetry written over*
“The stars don’t ask to be seen, but they shine anyway.”
Eva Derrin
Thank you for the crane
And just like that, Mira gently tugged her away into the crowd.
But even as they moved on, Eva kept turning the little paper crane in her fingers.
Mira Lennox
Have you chosen which club you are gonna enter?
Mira Lennox
How about...literacy club
*winks*
Eva Derrin
Not again
*rolls eyes*
Talia River
Why don't you join mine
*smiles*
Talia River
It's not that noisy and fun
Eva Derrin
You are right, I will join the photography club
*smiles*
“Welcome!” a senior called, adjusting her camera strap around her neck. “You guys interested in joining?”
Eva blinked as she looked around. Posters with stunning portraits lined the booth, candid moments from campus events, vibrant shots of student life. One photo caught her eye—someone standing under the cherry blossom tree on the far side of the lawn, face blurred, petals caught mid-fall.
