Chapter 7: The Silent sway

Mia was still thinking of whose hand to take when Raven came up to her. "Boys boys give the girl space, she just came into the party, it's too early to put her in that kind of position". Raven said to the boys before pulling Mia away from both of them.

"Thanks for saving me back there, I didn't know what to do". Mia said thanking Raven for pulling her from there. "No problem I didn't want them fighting over you here as well, so I decided to save you the trouble" Raven said to Mia winking at her, in return Mia gave her a bright smile.

A few moments passed and Music started playing. River who was standing at the corner didn't waste any time, he went straight to Mia. "May I have this dance?" River asked in a playful tone, But dance hasn't really been Mia's strong point. "Sorry River, but I'm not really good at dancing". Mia said hoping to avoid River's request." Neither do I, so we can teach other". River told Mia before pulling her into the dance floor.

They danced to the catchy songs that were playing, both having fun with their horrifyingly ridiculous dance moves. "Told you there's nothing to be afraid of". River told Mia with a bright smile on his face. " This isn't scary, but it's kinda fun". Mia said also smiling at him. She was glad to know that she wasn't the only one who can't dance.

With time the music switched to a slower paced song, were the couples had to slow dance. River came closer to Mia stretching his hands towards her. Mia took his hand, and they started to dance slowly.

Everything was going well with Blade watching jealously. That was until a gosh of strong wind blew the school door open. Two very intimidating men entered the room one was a vampire and the other one was a werewolf. "Dad" Both boys said surprised to see their dads there.

River's dad went to straight to the dance floor where everyone was frozen. "So, this is the girl that has my son wrapped around her finger". River's dad said to Mia staring at her coldly. "Huh" Mia said confused about what was happening, River's dad just ignoring him said to Mia in a threatening voice "You're going to stay away from my son, or I'll make your life a living hell, that's not a threat it's a warning".

"Dad could you please stop, you're making her feel scared". River told his dad as Mia ran out of the ballroom and went into an empty class crying. "Why are you here dad, you always find a way to take away my happiness". River said to his dad in a sad voice. " I know what's best for you, I'm your dad, and that girl is a bad influence on you. I mean look her she's a human and being with her will just ruin your reputation". Mr Orion told his son hoping to reason with him.

"You don't care about me, your just scared that she would ruin your reputation not mine. I have always been in bad terms with you, but now I hate you And don't even think about following me". River said to his dad in an angry tone before leaving the ballroom intending to find Mia.

Meanwhile, Blade stood there feeling helpless, he didn't have the courage to stand up for Mia Because of the fear and respect he had for his dad. " Blade" "Yes dad" "You know who you are right", "Yes dad", "Good then make sure you always remember that you're my son meaning you're the future vampire king. Don't bring shame to me got it" "Yes dad" Blade whimpered before his dad left the hall.

River went on a search for Mia, he saw her run to one of the classrooms just a while ago. But he didn't know which one. Mia on the other hand jumped out of a class window and ran straight to her dorm room where she took her clothes off and cried in the shower till she fell asleep.

The next day, she acted like nothing happened at all. Raven was kinda happy to see her act all bright even with what happened the previous night. Mia just decided to get a little time for herself and took a few days off from school. She wanted to clear her head and stay on her own for a while and Raven respected that not allowing River or Blade to get close to her.
