Series Title: The Last
Episode 7: "The Eye That Sees the Horizon"
🌊 Setting Sail into Fog
The Roger Pirates continued their journey, sailing through thick gray fog near the border of the Deadlight Sea, a mysterious region known for wrecked ships and ghostly winds.
Roger:
“Visibility’s bad… Tao, keep your sword ready. Echo, scan the fog.”
Lina (calmly playing her flute):
“Something’s watching us.”
Suddenly, a bullet whizzed past Roger’s ear, hitting the ship’s mast with perfect precision.
Tao (drawing his blade):
“Sniper. Close.”
But the shot didn’t hit to kill—it was a warning.
🏝️ The Island of Echo Winds
They followed the shot’s direction and found a small island—a hidden sanctuary filled with broken rifles, telescopes, and training dummies. At the center was a wooden watchtower, reinforced with scrap metal.
From the top, a voice called down:
Stranger (calm, focused):
“State your reason for entering my range.”
Roger stepped forward with a grin.
Roger:
“We’re pirates. Looking for food and maybe a crewmate.”
A moment of silence.
Then, from the tower, a young man slid down a rope—his cloak fluttered, a massive sniper rifle on his back. He wore goggles, a calm expression, and had gray eyes sharp as hawks.
Stranger:
“Name’s Aero Vex. I live here. I shoot here. I’ve hit targets 3 km away.”
Roger (interested):
“Ever think of seeing the world beyond your scope?”
🎯 Aero’s Backstory
While they shared food at a campfire, Aero opened up.
Aero:
“I was once a sniper for a pirate crew... The Vulture Spines. They betrayed me. Left me on an island during a Marine ambush.”
Echo:
“That explains your solitary training ground.”
Aero:
“I swore I’d never follow another captain… unless they’re worth aiming for.”
Roger smirked and stood, holding an apple.
Roger:
“Then try me.”
He tossed the apple into the air—so high it disappeared in the fog.
Aero didn’t flinch. He turned, fired without even looking up, and the apple came falling back… in perfect halves.
Tao (impressed):
“Tch. Show off.”
🏴 Aero Joins the Crew
Roger:
“We need an eye like yours. You in?”
Aero (after a pause):
“I’ll join. But I don’t take orders blindly.”
Roger:
“Good. I don’t give them blindly.”
Aero shook hands with Roger—and the crew welcomed their new sniper.
Echo immediately began customizing Aero’s rifle, while Lina asked to learn wind-based sniping. Tao just scoffed, muttering something about "another showoff."
⚠️ Ending Twist
As they sailed off, a wanted poster floated onto their ship—fresh from the Marine system.
