CHAPTER:3
As I reached home, Remi was already waiting for me on my doorstep. We cozied up for a night in, surrounded by snacks and comfortable blankets. As we chatted and laughed, I couldn't help but bring up Ansel - after all, she's my best friend, and I had to tell her.
"The craziest thing happened today at the set;" I said.
Remi looked at me curiously. "You know I work with Ansel, the renowned model," I continued. Remi's eyes sparkled with interest, and she asked, "Yeah, why? What's with him?"
I took a deep breath before asking."You remember that guy from my childhood I told you about? The one I was really close to?"I asked.
Remi nodded, and I continued, "Today, when I saw Ansel's scar, it reminded me of him. I felt this strange, familiar feeling."Remi looked at me and said, "Whoa, what if it was him?" She paused, her eyes wide with curiosity. I shook my head, looking puzzled. "Although they share the same name, his last name is Lloyd," I clarified.
Remi's expression turned disappointing, her eyes filled with a deep understanding. She knew I've been holding onto the hope of reconnecting with the boy from my past. She looked at me with a mix of curiosity and concern.
"Did you ask him about the scar?"
she asked, her voice gentle but probing. "Who knows, maybe it's him, and you misunderstood his last name," she continued, her tone laced with possibility. "The chances might be slim, but they're not zero," she said, her eyes sparkling with intrigue.
I shrugged off Remi's speculation, replying, "Enough with your shit, Remi. You're never correct." She chuckled, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"You never know, you might thank me later,".
She said with a sly smile. Undeterred, she pressed on, her curiosity getting the better of her. "Alright, alright, so what happened? Did he say anything to you?" she asked, her voice laced with anticipation.I continued telling Remi about Ansel's scar, describing how I reached out to touch it and how he grabbed my hand, saying he wanted me to feel it. "I was asking him about the scar when you interrupted with your call," I said, jokingly to Remi. She burst into laughter, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"I didn't know you guys were in an intense situation," she said, still chuckling.
We were both chuckling hard. Then I continued and said Ansel wanted to meet up with me next time. Remi shouted, 'You should totally meet up.' With excitement in her eyes, as if she was gonna be the one meeting him. I said I'd think about it. Remi pushed me and said,'Girl, you have to admit, on the one hand, he's not so bad.'
I'm not talking about looks, Remi, but I don't know – I just have something on my mind," I said. Remi looked at me with a reassuring look and said, "It won't hurt you to give him a chance. Who knows, you might get lucky.
My mind was still muddled, but somehow I agreed to Remi's advice. She beamed with excitement, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. I knew she'd always wanted to play matchmaker, especially since I'd often felt like a third wheel when she was with her boyfriend.
As I agreed to Remi's advice, she beamed with excitement. 'Let's forget about this for now and focus on the movie,' she said, snuggling up closer to me. We spent the rest of the night laughing and chatting, the conversation about Ansel momentarily forgotten. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that my life was about to change in unexpected ways.
