why are do u keep apologizing

Austin stayed silent for a while, his emotions swirling inside him like a storm. He wasn’t sure how to feel—confused, frightened, angry, yet somehow... there was a part of him that was starting to understand Xander, even if it didn’t make sense. His mind was a whirlwind of questions, doubts, and the strange connection that had been forming between them, despite everything that had happened.

"Why do you keep apologizing?" Austin asked, his voice soft but firm, the hurt still lingering in his words. "You’ve said sorry over and over, but nothing changes. You hurt me... and yet, I don’t know how to walk away."

Xander's expression faltered, and for a moment, he looked like he was about to fall apart. He ran a hand through his disheveled hair, his eyes filled with a depth of emotion Austin hadn’t expected. "I don’t want you to walk away," Xander whispered, his voice raw. "I know I’ve hurt you. I know I’ve done things that shouldn’t have happened... but I can't lose you, Austin. I can’t."

Austin shook his head, confused by the conflicting emotions that pulled at his heart. "But what about everything else? The lies, the chaos... the things you did when I wasn’t myself?"

Xander’s eyes dropped to the floor, his fists clenching. "I didn’t choose this," he muttered, frustration coloring his tone. "None of this was my choice. But the moment I saw you, the real you—" Xander paused, taking a breath as if the next words were difficult to say. "I couldn't stay away. And now... now I just want to make things right. If you'll let me."

Austin looked at him for a long moment, the sincerity in Xander's eyes almost enough to make him falter. He felt the weight of the situation pressing down on him—the confusion, the fear, the strange connection that had somehow blossomed in the midst of all the chaos.

He didn’t know what to do. He didn’t know how to make sense of it all.

But before he could respond, a knock came at the door, and the moment was interrupted.

"Your Highness, dinner is ready," a voice called from outside.

Austin looked up at Xander, his brow furrowed. "We should probably... talk about this more, but... I’m not ready yet." He took a deep breath, standing up. "I need space, Xander. I need time to think."

Xander nodded, his face a mixture of sadness and understanding. "I understand. Take all the time you need. I won’t rush you. But please know... I’m here, and I’ll wait for you."

With a heavy heart, Austin walked toward the door, pausing only for a moment to look back at Xander. His chest tightened as he saw the vulnerability in the other man’s gaze, the silent plea for forgiveness.

"I’m not sure where this is going, Xander," Austin said quietly. "But we need to figure this out. I need to know who I am in all of this... and what you want from me."

Xander stood still, his eyes never leaving Austin as he spoke softly, "I want you, Austin. That’s all I know."

Austin swallowed, his emotions a storm that he couldn’t calm. "We’ll see," he whispered, and left the room.

As he walked down the hallway, his heart was torn. Part of him wanted to stay and understand everything that was happening between them. Another part of him just wanted to run and forget it all.

But he knew that whatever happened, he couldn’t ignore the feelings growing inside him. The connection was there, whether he wanted to admit it or not.

And somehow, he knew that this story—his story—was far from over.

Xander seems like the type of person you should tread lightly around, and be careful and cautious of what you say too. but I feel Austin knows this already, and he will make it a point to watch himself very carefully.
