A Date to Remember

Jaik couldn't wait to call Annah. He had been thinking about her nonstop since they met at the art gallery. He picked up his phone and dialed the number on the note.

Annah answered on the first ring. "Hello?" she said, her voice sounding husky over the phone.

"Hi," Jaik said, trying to sound casual. "It's Jaik. We met at the art gallery last night."

There was a pause on the other end of the line before Annah responded. "Oh, hi," she said, her voice sounding warmer now. "I'm so glad you called."

Jaik smiled, feeling a sense of excitement. "I was thinking maybe we could grab coffee sometime?" he asked.

"I'd love to," Annah said. "But there's something I need to tell you."

Jaik's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?" he asked.

"I'm not just a photographer," Annah said, her voice hesitant. "I'm also...your new business partner."

Jaik's eyes widened in surprise. "What?" he exclaimed.

Annah laughed. "I know it's a shock. But I've invested in your event planning company, and I'm now a co-owner."

Jaik's mind was reeling. He had no idea that Annah was a businesswoman, let alone his new partner.

"What does this mean for us?" Jaik asked, trying to process the news.

Annah's voice was confident. "It means we'll be working together closely. And I'm not sure if we can keep our personal and professional relationships separate."

Jaik's heart was racing. He had no idea what to expect from this new development.

Jaik's mind was reeling as he tried to process the news. He had no idea that Annah was a businesswoman, let alone his new partner.

"I see," Jaik said, trying to sound calm. "I didn't know you were interested in investing in my company."

Annah laughed. "I'm not just interested in investing, Jaik. I'm interested in taking your company to the next level."

Jaik raised an eyebrow. "And what makes you think you can do that?" he asked.

Annah smiled confidently. "Because I have a vision for this company, and I have the resources to make it happen."

Jaik was taken aback by Annah's confidence and determination. He had to admit, he was intrigued.

"Okay, I'm listening," Jaik said. "What's your vision for the company?"

Annah's eyes sparkled as she began to outline her plans. Jaik listened intently, impressed by her knowledge and expertise.

As they talked, Jaik found himself feeling more and more drawn to Annah. He couldn't believe he had almost missed out on the opportunity to work with her.

But as the conversation came to a close, Jaik couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to Annah's story than she was letting on.

"What's the real reason you invested in my company, Annah?" Jaik asked, looking her straight in the eye.

Annah's smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure.

"I told you, Jaik," she said. "I believe in your company, and I want to help take it to the next level."

Jaik raised an eyebrow. "I don't believe you," he said.

Annah's eyes flashed with anger, but then she seemed to relax.

"Fine," she said. "If you must know, I invested in your company because I want to prove something to myself."

Jaik's curiosity was piqued. "What do you want to prove?" he asked.

Annah's eyes seemed to cloud over, and for a moment, Jaik thought he saw a glimmer of vulnerability.

"I want to prove that I'm more than just a pretty face," Annah said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jaik's heart went out to her. He had no idea what Annah had been through, but he knew he wanted to help her prove herself.
