Undercover duo

Mission Briefing: Undercover Duo

Raven eyed the team as they sat in the dimly lit penthouse, the glow of the city casting long shadows. “Alright, listen up. You’ve had your break. Now it’s time for your next assignment.”

She tossed a folder onto the table. Seiran picked it up first, flipping through the pages with a blank expression.

Yashiro leaned over his shoulder, grinning. “Ohhh, what’s this? Another waiter gig? Or do we finally get to be mascots?”

Seiran sighed. “You talk too much.”

Raven cut in. “Not quite. This time, it’s a high-stakes black-market auction. Weapons, data leaks, stolen tech—you name it. And you two—” she pointed at Seiran and Yashiro, “—are going undercover as buyers.”

Kenji burst out laughing. “Oh, this is good. Yashiro in a tux? He’s gonna look like a con artist.”

Yashiro smirked. “Correction, I am a con artist.”

Seiran rolled his eyes. “And me?”

Raven’s lips twitched slightly. “You’ll be his bodyguard.”

Kenji whistled. “Oh damn. Seiran as a ‘bodyguard.’ You sure it’s not the other way around?”

Alexier smirked. “I’d pay to see that.”

Yashiro nudged Seiran. “Looks like you’ll have to keep me safe, Seiranchi. Think you can handle it?”

Seiran shot him a flat look. “Try not to die before I have to.”

Mission Night: Unexpected Tension

The auction was held in an underground luxury club—high-end suits, silk dresses, and security tighter than a government vault.

Seiran and Yashiro stepped through the doors, seamlessly blending in. Yashiro, dressed in an expensive tailored suit, exuded an effortless charm, while Seiran followed behind in a sleek all-black ensemble, every inch the intimidating bodyguard.

As they walked, Yashiro leaned in slightly, murmuring, “So, how do I look?”

Seiran didn’t even glance at him. “Like a bastard with too much money.”

Yashiro grinned. “Flattered.”

They made their way to the VIP section, where their target—a broker with deep connections in underground dealings—was seated.

Yashiro smoothly slipped into his role, ordering expensive wine and striking up casual conversation, while Seiran stood silently beside him, scanning the room.

Then, without warning, the broker’s gaze darkened. “I don’t recognize you,” he said, eyes narrowing. “And in this business, that’s a problem.”

Before Yashiro could respond, the man’s bodyguards moved in.

Seiran reacted instantly, stepping forward and gripping Yashiro’s shoulder firmly, his voice dropping into something ice-cold and dangerous. “Do you have a problem with my employer?”

The air shifted. The broker studied Seiran, noting the deadly calm in his eyes. He hesitated.

Yashiro smirked. “Relax, my friend. We’re just here to do business. No need for hostility.”

The broker exhaled slowly before waving his guards off. “Fine. Let’s talk.”

As soon as the tension eased, Yashiro turned to Seiran with a cocky grin. “Damn, Seiran. I almost thought you cared.”

Seiran clicked his tongue. “I was just doing my job.”

But he didn’t move his hand from Yashiro’s shoulder right away.

Yashiro’s grin softened just a fraction. “Yeah, sure. Keep telling yourself that.”

Aftermath: Small Moments

Back at the penthouse, Seiran leaned against the counter, pouring himself a glass of water.

Yashiro flopped onto the couch, stretching. “You know, you were kinda hot back there.”

Seiran didn’t react. “Don’t make it weird.”

Yashiro chuckled. “I’m serious. You really looked like you were ready to murder that guy for me. You sure you don’t have a soft spot?”

Seiran finally looked at him, expression unreadable. “You talk too much.”

Yashiro smirked but didn’t push further. Instead, he simply muttered, “Thanks, though.”

Seiran didn’t respond. But as he turned away, Yashiro swore he saw the ghost of a smirk on his llips

Auction Chaos: The Plan Goes Sideways

The deal was supposed to be simple—blend in, gather intel, and leave unnoticed. But, of course, things never go as planned.

Kenji’s voice crackled through their hidden earpieces. “Hey, lovebirds, how’s the auction going? Did Seiran confess his undying loyalty yet?”

Yashiro smirked. “Nah, but he did save me from a bullet with his death glare.”

Seiran sighed. “Shut up.”

Before Kenji could make another joke, Raven’s sharp voice cut in. “Focus. We have a problem.”

From their vantage point, Alexier and Kenji had been watching from a rooftop across the street. The security feeds they tapped into showed armed mercenaries infiltrating the venue—hired guns looking for something or someone.

Raven continued, “New players in the game. Not ours. Be ready to adapt.”

Seiran’s grip on his concealed weapon tightened. “So much for a quiet night.”

Yashiro exhaled, a grin creeping onto his lips. “Well, let’s make it fun.”
